It’s no secret that Estonia hopes to turn its Eesti Laul into the Melodifestivalen of the East. They’re moving to a bigger venue this year, have called on past Eesti Laul stars for promotional efforts and are actively pushing Eesti Laul as a stop on the Eurovision 2016 campaign trail. Naturally they’re also drumming up news at every turn, as with today’s announcement of the running order of the two semi-finals, which you can see below.

Eesti Laul 2016 Tickets

As usual, voting on Eesti Laul 2016 consists of 50% jury voting and 50% televoting. Five entries from each semi-final qualify to the final, which takes place at the Saku Suurhall on March 5. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10:11 on 10-11.

Each participant can decide when to release their song but all entries must be available online by mid-December. At the time of writing I Wear* Experiment, The Jingles and Zebra Island have released their entries. You can listen to them here.

Saw somone say in the comments that when Australia takes part in eurovision again, they’ll be in the BIG 5 (more like 6), but I truly think that they should compete in the semi-finals.

Yeah I definitely think Australia will come back in 2016, they did send a great entry after all and they enjoyed being in the contest. However, I stated that there are 41 countries confirmed “so far” (including Australia, 100%). My question is who would be the #42 country joining us in Stockholm? ESCtoday wrote an article today saying that Bosnia & Herzegovina will make a final decision regarding Eurovision 2016 on 16 November. Fingers crossed they’ll join us or otherwise Lebanon or Croatia. 🙂

I have heard only 3 songs and I can tell that first semi-final qualifiers are Cartoon & Kristel Aaslaid and Laura. And second semi-final qualifiers are Grete Paia, Gertu Pabbo, Jüri Poostmann and Põhja-Tallinn. So that mean that in second semi-final 6 other artists are just compeating for that one last spot. I’m Estonian and it’s just soooo obvious 🙂 Cartoon & Kristel Aaslaid – Cartoon is Estonias rising star and people just adore them because of that and their music is so good, Laura – she is like one of the most successful female solo singer, basically all her… Read more »

From the “up to date” entries, that Zebra Island song seems so good & radio-friendly, but its “live” version will be near bad, I pressume. 🙂 OK, 17 songs more to go. 🙂

For the first time in many years, I’m really looking forward to Eesti Laul 2016 and what the Estonians will send to Stockholm. I’m sure they’ll send a male solo singer for next year, you heard it here first y’all!

BREAKING NEWS, MAKE AN ARTICLE WIWIBLOGGS; Jan Ola Sand publicly said at the HostCity 2015 that there are 41 participants for Eurovision 2016 “so far”, so there’s still a chance for either Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Lebanon or even Morocco to return. 🙂 The full line-up will apparently be revealed soon……

I have real high hopes for Estonia in Stockholm. Really hope they pull this through. This and Latvia seem to be planning excellent selections for a second year in a row.
