Light your fireworks and raise your glass of Sangria because Spain’s national broadcaster RTVE has announced that it will host a National Final to select the country’s representative at Eurovision 2016! Spain is returning to the public vote after a year of internal selections which did not go as well as expected. UPDATE: RTVE has confirmed that six acts will take part in the NF.
The national broadcaster has informed that the six acts will be performing in the National Final haven’t been selected yet. They are still in talks with some of them, apparently, so they kept thin-mouthed about the names. For the moment, we only know that they will be “famous, young and talented” and will sing “current pop music”.
According to Spanish fan site eurovision-spain.com some of those acts include Maverick and Xuso Jones.

The last time Spain held a National Final, Ruth Lorenzo was selected for Copenhagen and she scored a respectable 10th place. The National Final also gave us THIS moment:

Yes! I so wanted a NF for Spain again. I personally think the format they used for 2014 worked well, just a few acts, but GOOD candidates, so six acts are more than enough in my opinion, as long as they’re all about quality over quantity.
I’m really excited about this, and I really like all the names that are being rumored to be the final 6, Xuso Jones, Maria Isabel, Sara Serena (her song Asylum is amazing I hope she goes with that song), Maverick, Raúl Gomez… I can’t wait
Asi de pobre es el interes de RTVE en ESC.Si solo seis acto y eso que noto una tendencia positiva e interes de artistas de diferente perfil en presentarse a ESC, pobre EDUERNE que RTVE le vendio la cancion sueca el año pasado como si fuera una panacea y la mandaron a fracasar a VIENA.Si RTVE trabaja para el evento de esta manera.

If they broadcast it in the main TVE channel I might get to watch it in the TV instead of the computer.

Only six acts?
I’d Love to watch on Eurovision the group “Yall” with their song “Hundred Miles” (I hope but it’s difficult RTVE chosing a song all In english). Current and a catchy song… But let’s wait what happens…
