The Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2016 is approaching fast, so we just had to squeeze in a few interviews with the contestants before the curtain rises and the pyrotechnics explode. Naturally we scheduled a face-to-face with Brooke Borg, who is giving power to the people with her song “Golden”. Will you love this Golden girl as much as we do?
Twenty-three-year old Brooke is already known in Malta and with MESC she is taking her career to the next level, though not really as planned: “Three weeks before the deadline we wrote the song within a week,” Brooke says. “But even within the short time we used, ‘Golden’ represents myself and my character.”
And what does she have planned for her stage performance?
“I enjoy being simple, so it’s just gonna be me on stage. We will use just little things, not random ones, but effective ones. But the most important thing for me is the song and that’s what I want to highlight!”
This girl is also really brave, as she moved to London at the age of 17 with her brother: “It was a hard time at the beginning, of course. I missed my family and friends but back then I used to enjoy every second of my time and opportunities I took.”
