Ten acts, ten songs, but only one winner. It’s time for Germany to select their Eurovision 2016 representative through Unser Lied für Stockholm, their national final that will take place tonight. Three days ago we asked you to let us know who should sing for Deutschland at Eurovision. After counting 1,088 votes, we can now reveal that Jamie-Lee Kriewitz is your runaway favourite with her song “Ghost.”
Jamie-Lee also finished first in our Wiwi Jury, with one juror describing her song “Ghost” this way:
Haunting pop driven with angelic vocals. Jamie-Lee Kriewitz may be just a teenager, but in this competition, she’s a heavyweight. “Ghost” is subtle. Although it rings in the background, it doesn’t fully take over. Crafted for radio success, this debut outing has had a successful chart run in Germany. It could easily find new life at the ESC grand final.

So, what do you think?
just bland,
welcome to the bottom, germany
Vote for Alex Diehl and take nul points again!
Now I hate Germany and I hope they will choose Alex Diehl, because he is clearly worst option for this country. Take nul points again!
Also worth mentioning is how German final is complete opposite from the Ukrainian one – fast paced, well staged, polite. I think it’s a huge indicator of the atmosphere and level of culture.
First was bad prank with Xavier Naidoo, and now this. Avantasia, Alex Diehl – are they really good? Everyone knows, that they are so weak, bad and boring.
Germany must be thrown out of Eurovision!
Now Alex for win please! Great song, great message + we need more male singers and more non-English songs. But I could live with Ghost or Mystery of the Blood Red Rose as winners too.
Top 3 in Germany was clearest top 3 of all time!!! Avantasia, Alex Diehl!? Why!?
D’OH! 🙁 I guessed wrong. Keøma’s song was a nice song, though.
No top 3 for Gregorian and Laura Pinski? What a stupid german voting!
At work here, but I caught the show just in time to watch the last 5 and the review of all 10. If I must say, if there is an upset here, it may come from Keøma.
There are two good ideas about national selections:
1) 5 parts, 3×6, top 2 to final, next 2 to second chance, and next 2 to voting at the beginning of second chance
2) 3 parts, 2×6, top 3 from both semi finals to final. This option can have jury.
Laura sound very good live on stage, better than Avanstasia , Jamie Lee..
I’ve just heard all the songs live. My winner would be Alex Diehl with Jamie as close second. Gregorian are unique, but I’m still debating weather in a good way. None of the songs are terrible, but several are forgettable and don’t build up tension at all.
I will change my mind about jury if someone from this three will not advance to play-off. Please say no to Avantasia and Alex Diehl!
Laura Pinski, Jamie Lee Kriewitz and Gregorian to top 3.
love the song but wth is she wearing/
Gregorian must win. They are special, known internationally and will definetely stand out in Stockholm and give Germany a great result. Go Gregorian!
Only with Gregorian Germany have chance to be in TOP 5, and 100 % to be in TOP 10 .
With Avanstasia have chane to be in TOP 10, from 6 to 10 place
With Jamie Lee Kriewitz, I don t see Germany in TOP 10, with her Germany with luck wili be between 11 to 15 place.
Off-topic: OikoTimes is reporting that France is sending Amir Haddad, with the song “J’ai Cherché”
Jamie-Lee Kriewitz is the obvious winner but if Germany want top 10 they should go with Gregorian
If Ghost wins tonight it will not stand out in Stockholm and I can’t see it bettering last years failure… For me for the strongest showing in May Germany have to choose Gregorian, when a song is both unique and tasteful, good things will happen!
I dont think Jamie-Lee will win. I dont even know whether she’ll be in the superfinal honestly. Germans tend to vote for simple staging, normal people, boring songs 😀 And thats Alex Diehl at this point. I think the superfinal will be: 1. Alex Diehl (winner), 2. Avantasia (Runner-Up) and 3. Laura Pinski (Second Runner-Up). I tell ya, it will all go badly wrong. What I want though: 1. Jamie-Lee, 2. Luxuslärm, 3. Gregorian :/ I have faith, hope never dies, but … its Germany after all …
As she should!
But I fully expect Germany to muck it up.
I was proud they voted Elaiza (especially as I was extremely sick that day but once I heard the “Is It Right?” chorus, that really caught my attention!
