She was raised in Florida before returning to Sweden with her family as a teenager.

And it seems her international background has given Ace Wilder extra appeal abroad, as she placed third with the international juries during Saturday’s Melodifestivalen 2016 final.

The “Don’t Worry” singer — who won the international jury vote back in 2014 — only placed eighth with the Swedish public.

She told wiwiblogger William that she isn’t sure why she does better abroad than she does at home, shrugging it off and saying “it is what it is.”

And what about the international jurors in Slovenia, Italy, the Netherlands and Australia who ranked her first? “They have really great taste, so I might have to visit them,” she says. “I love the international jury.”

She also tells us she has no recollection of being on stage and discusses the tight connection she shares with her dancers.

After our interview, Ace ran to her dressing room to slip into a black skirt with shimmering silver-and-black bodice.

The petite singer elongated her slim pins in a pair of stripy black heels and swept her hair up into a simple bun, helping show off her wrinkle-free complexion.

We filmed her throwing down another kickass performance of “Don’t Worry”, which you can watch above.

Don’t worry. It’s alright. @acewilder #Melfest #mello #melfest2016 #melodifestivalen after party

I’m not fond of the phrase “Too good for Eurovision”, but I don’t know how else to explain why someone as amazing as Ace is so hugely underrated in Mello.

She’s amazing. I love her songs, performances and charisma. I am not really surprised that Swedes don’t like her that much – she doesn’t fit in the traditional Swedish pop pattern.

With big help by EBU reference group and overrated juries points like they did from 2012 to 2015, Frans have chance to win.
