The second rehearsal sessions came to an end today with the Joe and Jake running through “You’re Not Alone” for a final time on the Globe stage. They weren’t adding anything new, rather just solidifying what they’d already decided on.

The staging is still based around Joe and Jake on stage, accompanied by two drummers on raised platforms. The background LED walls are full of fan selfies, with people posing together with friends.

This performance added pyros, bringing some extra drama and excitement to the duo’s uplifting and positive song.

In addition to the fan selfies, the performances also incorporated shots of the audience, continuing with the theme of friendship and togetherness.

This song can’t be in the first twenty!

You know when someone tries to impersonate you, and fails badly? XD

Just heard ESC Insight’s interview with Hugh Goldsmith and it’s interesting to hear his plans for next year’s selection. It’s great that they’re starting work next Sunday (no rest for the wicked!), and hopefully Joe and Jake get a decent enough placing (14th to 18th) so he can start convincing bigger names to write songs.

They’re giving off great vibes and have strong stage presence. The staging is also good especially when the pyro comes in. Could sneak onto the left side of the board!!

Fingers crossed that they’ll do better than the last four UK entries. Any improvement should be able to put BBC on the right direction. I believe that they can pull enough effort to finish on the left of the scoreboard this year!

@We – I could say the same for Russians getting excited at coming 2nd last year& choosing a big star to represent them. So who cares? at least a lot of Brits live their own entry. The fact that they have big local support is all that matters….

Better than expected but that is not going to cut it. The presentation did not excite me one bit and Joe and Jake would be lucky to finish below 20th.

Steve, I’m with you! This should definitely be inside the top 10! I don’t get all the hate, I really don’t.

The worst part about Romania being kicked out, for me, is that I won’t be able to vote for my favorites, like Joe&Jake (and Armenia, Czechia, Cyprus etc). This just breaks my heart 🙁

Sorry Eugene. They did their best with a poor and weak song, but noone would bet for this song in Europe, but Brits betting for their own country. Sorry, dont pretend to be rude, just mean it’s easy to buy a top in the odds by investing for your country. In some other countries betting on TV shows is not allowed.

The best part of the selfie is the crowd shots – people will see themselves and go wild, which is slightly better than photos as they’re static.

what’s with all the synmetry? 2 drummers (is the song really that complicated? lol) and the selfies are mirrored on the two LED screens. they sound superb tho. hopefully they’ll get good placing.

Good try Uk! You did the best you could with this weak song. That’s positive enough. But will this be enough to pull them out of the bottom 5?

This is a nice surprise tbh, unlike France and Spain, UK have done a good job

Easily the best of the Big 5….these two are the best ESC export the UK has had since Jade Ewen.

It’s a really positive number. It’s fun it’s inclusive. It would be great to hear it on the radio a bit more and Joe and Jakes charisma is second to none. All in all I think I’m a bit proud of our entry this year and deserves appluse.

Yeh but if this was Russia or Sweden entry, everyone would love it and it would end up in the Top 10, UK haters!

I’m sorry, Joe & Jake’s fan. I find this so so relative to other Big 5 and Sweden.
