martija-stanojkovic-fyr-macedonia-love-will-lead-your-way

FYR Macedonia’s MKRTV handpicked her to sing for the country at Junior Eurovision 2016 way back in July.

And on Monday singer Martija Stanojkovic proved she’d put the months of August and September to very good use as she finally revealed her JESC song “Love Will Lead Our Way”.

In the three-minute music video the 12-year-old vocalist makes it clear that she believes in the power of love to raise one’s spirits and keep the storms at bay.

The video sees the Kumanovo-born talent voguing in darkness before the beat picks up and the colour explodes.

As she dances and grooves with her pals, she works a variety of looks, including a red-and-black flannel shirt, an Adidas originals tank top, denim cutoffs and a fierce green bomber jacket with on-trend aviator sunglasses.

Perhaps hinting at what we’ll see in Malta, she and her possee perform some decidedly urban choroegraphy, giving this a touch of street.

The Balkan nation hasn’t had the best of luck in recent years, finishing last in its last two appearances.

On both occasions — with Barbara Popovic in 2013 and Ivana & Magdalena in 2015 — the country fielded upbeat dance numbers.

Perhaps this more mid-tempo offering, which mixes up the country’s genre at JESC, will steer them up the scoreboard?

What do you think of this piece of ethnic pop? Where do you think it’ll finish? You can let us know in the comments box below.

Music: dreamy and ethereal, delicately pleasant to the ear, but not a ballad, which makes the song different and unique
Artist: excellent vocals, exceptional charisma and catchy performance
Macedonia: winner of 2016 JESC.

We are heading to #skopje2017 next year. This is so modern and cool and can do well with both juries. She’s 4° on my top, only behind Ukraine, Australia and Russia(yeah lol, like the top 3 of Stockholm 2016.). I hope she does well!

Very catchy, danceable and modern. I hope they won’t finish last again. 🙂
I don’t think the juries will be impressed though…

A pleasant enough song to listen to, nothing to wow me though. In my opinion there are many songs this year which are above mediocre but don’t make you say wow. The only one I have found yet is Albania. My top 10:
1. Albania 9.5/10
2. Bulgaria 7.5/10
3. Cyprus 7/10
4. Russia 7/10
5. Serbia 7/10
6. Australia 6/10
7. Belarus 5/10
8. The Netherlands 5/10
9. Ukraine 5/10
10. FYROM 5/10

Not a masterpiece, but this is even better than Kaliopi’s Dona. Well done Macedonia! I hope this ranks high 🙂

I like the song, it is catchy and modern. Good song, Macedonia! It is going to be very tricky this year. I would like to think that this will score well, but with so many great songs and singers, it will be very competitive. We can’t have everybody top 10. Unfortunately, smaller countries like Macedonia are at a disadvantage, even more so with all judge voting (the kids will obviously vote what they were told by the adults). Additionally, I do not see this standing out sufficiently and wow-ing in the live performance. I also have to admit that my… Read more »

I might be a party pooper, but I think it’s a bit too mature for Junior Eurovision :/

Did Macedonia entered 2016? Hahah… Good one.
Lets make them enter 2017 with a 2017 year song, up to date one, on ESC. LOL

I fear that this might not get votes from juries because it’s not a ballad
