On Wednesday November 30, Sweden’s SVT will finally reveal the 28 acts vying to win Melodifestivalen 2017 — easily the most popular and talked-about national selection for Eurovision. The roster of stars will, as always, include a handful of artists who debuted last year who are hungry to return this year and slay as veterans. So we just had to ask our readers: “Which debuting artists from 2016 do you most want to see again in 2017?”

After counting 2,300 votes, we can now reveal that Wiktoria — last year’s runner-up in the televote — is the act you are gagging for the most.

Wiktoria, who placed fourth overall with her hit “Save Me”, was a wiwibloggs favourite from the moment we heard her song just a few days before the Second Semi Final in Malmö.

This was our first reaction when the studio version of her song “Save Me” was revealed.

Nashville meets Stockholm and I absolutely love it. From the first note Wiktoria channels the good-and-the great of country music, dropping major attitude and soul as she croons about hitting the road and getting away from Mr Wrong. Wiktoria is pissed and yet she’s an absolute delight as she drops gutteral growls and enunciates so clearly you’d think she was from Tennessee. The melody is direct and simple and completely addictive, driven by simple guitar strumming and a very catchy beat. Unlike some of the acts in this heat, you get the sense she believes what she’s singing. By the time she hits the bridge your mouth should be on the floor (or emitting phrases like, “You go girl!”). If this song is Wiktoria angry, then I need her to stay mad for the rest of her career!

In our poll, Wiktoria finished with 507 votes — or around 22% of all those cast. That put her comfortably ahead of Idol runner-up Lisa Ajax, who earned 17% of the vote, and Robin Bengtsson, who earned around 15%.

You can see the full results below.

Wiktoria is undoubtedly extremely talented but even she couldnt save ‘Save Me’, which for me was a mediocre song

She offered nothing special, but I guess she was the only one the readers remembered because the other ones were even more bland than her (if that’s even possible).

Wiktoria’s melfest song for Melfest 2017 is written by the same people that wrote “Save me”. Lisa Ajax’s song is written by the Debs again and Robin Bengtsson’s song is surprisingly written by Robin Stjernberg.
