They entertained millions of viewers as Ireland’s Eurovision representatives in 2011 and 2012.

And now Jedward — perhaps the world’s most famous set of identical twins — are bringing their star power to Celebrity Big Brother.

Jedward, like many of the contestants on this series, have participated on the show before. They finished third behind Paddy Doherty and Kerry Katona on the eighth series in 2011 — the first series on the UK’s Channel 5.

The guys didn’t waste any time making an impact, with Edward falling off the runway as they marched into the house. But he soon put the stumble behind him. Shortly after their arrival, the duo performed their latest single “Hologram” inside the garden — and their housemates most definitely approved.

After their performance the brothers — full names John Paul Henry Daniel Richard Grimes and Edward Peter Anthony Kevin Patrick Grimes — joined the other housemates in the house.

“I feel like it’s New Year,” one of them said. “Happy New Year, everyone!”

Speaking to former MTV The Hills star Spencer Pratt, John said: “You don’t age at all.” Then, while talking to Spencer’s girlfriend Heidi Montag, he seemed to be having flashbacks: “You look like a girl I went out with. She’s probably watching right now!”

Producers saved Jedward for the very end of the show, and are clearly counting on them to bring in the ratings.

An insider told The Sun online: “Love them or hate them, Jedward are compulsive viewing.”

“And while some of the housemates are going to be familiar with them and what they’re like, the chances are the Americans will be in for a shock.”

“It’s going to be great to see them getting to know Speidi [Heidi and Spencer] – they think they’re the power duo of the house, but that could quickly change.”

Afterwards, on CBB’s spin-off show Big Brother’s Big On The Side, producers showed a brief clip of Jedward answering questions.

“This time on Celebrity Big Brother John and I will be seen on a deeper level,” John said. “You will see beyond the hair. We’re skin, we’re body, we’re necks.”
