They’re an androgynous LGBT rock group hoping for a ticket direkt til final when they perform fifth in the second semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2017.

But as it turns out, Dismissed owe their participation in Saturday night’s show in Malmö to chance.

SVT received their song “Hearts Align” from Ola Salo (frontman of Melfest 2007 winners The Ark) and Peter Kvint first.

Then Christer Björkman — ever the match-maker — suggested Dismissed as performers for the track and put Ola in touch with the group…whose avant-garde leanings have more than a whiff of The Ark to them.

The group — that’s Tor Hoglund, Johan Carlsson, Freddie van Eijsden and Douglas Woodbridge — are busy rehearsing to make sure they walk away with one of those winner bouquets in Malmö. But between rehearsals they had time for a quick chat with wiwibloggs.

You have an eclectic style. Where do you draw inspiration?

Fashion magazines, people on the street, celebrities and we also get a lot of inspiration from each other.

Ola Sala co-wrote your song? Was it love at first listen?

Yes! Ola and Peter Kvint wrote it, liked us and let us make our own version of the song. The whole thing felt fantastic!

The song is called “Hearts Align”. What’s the message behind it?

The song is about people coming together for a greater cause.

How does it compare to your other songs like “Dance On The Borderline”?

“Hearts Align” feels better suited to Melodifestivalen, and a little softer than our other music, but it’s still very much like the other songs that we write. Of course, as there are other people involved in the song, it’s only natural it’s a little different.

Finally, can you give away anything about how you’ll stage the song?

What we can say is that we’ll stage the song with a sublime stage show and our heads held high!

Dismissed are up fifth on Saturday night’s semi-final in Malmö.

Great – I should certainly pronounce, impressed with your site. I had no trouble navigating through all tabs as well as related information ended up being truly simple to do to access. I recently found what I hoped for before you know it at all. Reasonably unusual. Is likely to appreciate it for those who add forums or anything, web site theme . a tones way for your client to communicate. Nice task..

That article headline can be misread. It sounds like an act has been dismissed, not about an act called dismissed.

No, just no. They will bring Sweden’s lowest result for about half a decade.
