He’s the Spanish señor who spent the past spring touring across Europe and building bridges with his fellow contestants. And on Tuesday, Manel Navarro shared the love once more as he released an acoustic medley of some Eurovision 2017 favourites.
Joined in the studio by a couple of friends friends, their guitars and a little percussion, the Catalan crooner tackles six of this year’s entries.

Manel kicks it off with Lucie Jones’ “Never Give Up On You”.
Twitter fans first asked the Spaniard and Brit to duet à la Barei and Amir in 2016. The pair happily obliged, singing Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha’s “In The Name Of Love” at the London Eurovision Party.

Next, he moves on to another of his duet partners — Sweden’s Robin Bengtsson. On the stripped back version of “I Can’t Go On” he swaps treadmills for strings and the slick choreography with a brooding gaze. However, the all-important “freaking beautiful” hand gesture remains.

The medley continues with Denmark’s “Where I Am”, Moldova’s “Hey Mamma!” and Finland’s “Blackbird”. The blonde-haired hunk wraps things up with his own entry “Do It For Your Lover”.

Spain’s Eurovision 2017 staging
While Manel’s been busy in the studio, there have been some leaks regarding his staging. As you may recall, Hans Pannecouke — the genius behind the Common Linnets, Laura Tesoro and Douwe Bob’s staging — will direct Spain’s performance.
On Monday, Eurovision-Spain shared a first-look shot of Manel’s performance. Palm trees, a globe and a starry sky dominate the LED backdrop.

Manel himself dished out some teasers too, hinting via Twitter that he’ll be singing on a surfboard.

What do you think of Manel’s Eurovision 2017 medley? Which one did you like the most? And what about the staging? Let us know in the comment section below
This song is not going to qualify. One of the weakest songs’ this year.
You mean for the final? Spain’s on the Big Five, we already have a slot in the final no matter what. What place we’ll land there is a very different story…
At least there is hope for him to have a nice career after eurovision :

I expect 22th place for Spain in final this year!! Germany for the third row last place…
Depending on who will qualify from SF2, I think both might be saved from the “26th”. I’m still thinking that will be Spain until then.
I have a feeling he will do better than expected.
I’m sure the performance is going to be better than most people think! He’s going to place better than Barei and Edurne too. I’m also thinking about a top 10-15, there has been too much staging-flops amongst the favs.
I expect something refreshing and enjoyable from Spain. The general tone this year is quite dark and serious, so I think he can stand out.
