He won the Eurovision Song Contest for Sweden for the sixth time and she had a dead rat stuffed inside her locker on the set of British soap Hollyoaks. But now Måns Zelmerlöw and Ciara Janson are embarking on the biggest adventure of their lives: marriage!
The Swedish stud popped the question to his British bride-to-be in the midst of a sun-drenched sailing holiday around the coastline of Balkan nation Croatia.
At sunset, the “Cara Mia” hitmaker serenaded Ciara with his trusty acoustic guitar and then announced the news of the proposal through his Instagram page earlier today.
If the proposal wasn’t cute enough – we hope our future husbands are taking notes – the happy couple shared matching Instagram snaps.
Zelmerlöw left his fans to draw their own conclusions. He used his captions to tease fans, saying “about last night…” and ending the post with three heart emojis.
Ciara was more direct, gushing “Mrs Z To Be” in her caption, including the diamond ring emoji in case any of Måns’ many, many, many fanboys and fangirls were still in doubt.
Zelmerlöw’s PR rep confirmed the news in Stockholm, saying the couple were “engaged and happier than ever”.
Congratulations have already begun pouring in, with fellow Swedish stud Robin Bengtsson and “Undo” songstress Sanna Nielsen both sending their best wishes in the comments of Måns’ Instagram post.
The proposal took place at Fort George on the idyllic island of Vis in the southern Adriatic Sea. Built by the British during the Napoleonic wars, Fort George now offers the best views of Vis as well as delicious al fresco dining all summer long.
Wiwibloggs would like to send Måns and Ciara our congratulations on their engagement. We’ll look forward to receiving our invite in the post 😉
