Moldova‘s representatives DoReDos performed at last night’s Eurovision PreParty Riga 2018. But that was just one step on their promotional tour, which began shortly after winning O melodie pentru Europa with “My Lucky Day”. The trio have been following their songwriter Philipp Kirkorov on his tour of the Baltic countries and have already sung in front of tens of thousands of people in Lithuania, Russia, and Latvia.
As part of their promo tour for Eurovision, DoReDos followed the songwriter and producer of their entry “My Lucky Day” on his “Me” tour of the Baltic countries, starting on 16 March.
They’re also planning to go to Tallinn in Estonia, then to Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, and Madrid, before their last stop — Lisbon.
DoReDos have so far presented their Eurovision entry “My Lucky Day” to sold out venues in Kaunas, Klaipeda, Kaliningrad, Vilnius, and Siauliai.
Introduced by Philipp Kirkorov as his winning song from Moldova, “My Lucky Day” is always warmly received by the audience.
Complete with the dancers and moving mirrors from the National Final, their show always gets everyone on their feet.
One such performance was at the Siemens arena in Vilnius, Lithuania, where 10,000 people got to listen to Moldova’s song for Lisbon, “My Lucky Day”:
Each stop also provides an opportunity to talk to the press and to have radio and TV appearances. Philipp Kirkorov, who is a megastar in the region, is providing an important and needed boost for the Moldovan trio, which at the moment is underrated by the bookies.
Just as SunStroke Project this time last year, DoReDos are not considered a threat for the the Top 10, but the trio is determined to make their country proud and exceed expectations once again. And, with both Russia and Romania in their semi-final, chances are on their side ahead of the Grand Final.
DoReDos will only miss London from their tour, as some undisclosed visa issues prevented the Moldovan trio from attending that promo party as well.
But no matter. The group got another boost today as they released their song in Russia. They have already hit #18 on the iTunes chart.
