The X Factor Malta continues, as hopefuls from around the sunny country start the journey that will take one singer to represent Malta in Tel Aviv. In the fourth judges auditions show, we saw more familiar faces from the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, and were impressed by by talented newcomers. Let’s take a look!

First up, it’s the weekly stand-out audition from a MESC regular. This time the audition came from Petra. She’s been a semi-regular at the national final and placed sixth earlier this year with the attitude-laden “Evolution”. The tattooed woman was sweet and a little nervous before the audition, but as soon as she opened her mouth, the power came out. Petra belted out “You Don’t Own Me” which particularly moved judge Ira Losco to tears. Petra got four yeses from the judges and she’ll be off to Bootcamp.

Another stand-out audition came from Kelly Moncado. She gave a stirring performance of Sam Smith’s James Bond theme “Writing’s on the Wall”. It impressed the judges, who gave her four yeses and ensures she’ll be heading to Bootcamp. The performance also got a positive response from viewers, with social media comments suggesting that many wouldn’t mind seeing her represent Malta at Eurovision.

Also making an impact in the fourth audition show was Glenn Buhagiar. The Maltese rocker and rapper has a large facial birthmark, and judge Ray — who has a smaller one — empathised with his experience. Glenn auditioned with a passionate and moving rap number and showed the judges something they hadn’t seen before. “It’s different and different is good,” said judge Howard. The panel gave him four yeses and he’s off to Bootcamp.

The fourth audition show also featured successful auditions from Isaac Mercieca, James MifsudMartina Micallef, Nicole BrincatNicole HammettOwen LeuellenVanessa Sultana and girl group Gold. MESC veterans Josef Tabone and Miriana Conte also made an appearance. They will all be going to Bootcamp.

And last week’s daily shows featured successful auditions from Charisse AzzopardiJalisse MicallefJesmar Cassar, Milena Bianco, Mireille Rose Borg, Nicole AzzopardiRachel MamoRyan Axisa and another MESC regular, Stefan Galea. They will all be joining the increasingly long list of acts going to Bootcamp.

Ira Losco crying to the song You don’t own me, implying is a personal story for her, is offensive for her partner. Reality tv knows no limits for ratings. It’s a shame that is part of Eurovision now.

Maybe thinking “I don’t need this crap”. I’m starting to think the real winners are those who skip this competition.

That Glenn was terrible, the writing isn’t particularly strong, and the delivery was horrendous.
