Eurovision is off to another busy week of entry revelations. And our Eurovision 2019 Spotify playlist is filling up fast, as most of the competing songs are already available for listening.

The streaming figures on Spotify give us an impression of what fans have on replay (though, obviously Tamta’s “Replay” isn’t among them as it isn’t fully out). While there are a few changes within the top ten this week, Italy’s Mahmood remains in the lead.

Today’s update includes six new entries. Unfortunately, Ukraine is no longer on the list following the national broadcaster’s withdrawal announcement. Most of the competing songs are already available for streaming (and you can do listen via our playlist linked right here).

Eurovision 2019 Spotify streaming charts

# Country Streams # Country Streams
1 Italy 23.413.673 11 Germany 171.091
2 France 5.269.809 12 Hungary 157.016
3 Spain 4.073.456 13 Finland 132.714
4 Estonia 612.199 14 Slovenia 116.477
5 Australia 323.308 15 Romania 96.852
6 Denmark 311.494 16 Latvia 87.562
7 Norway 284.944 17 Belgium 50.058
8 Portugal 197.123 18 Croatia 41.276
9 Czech Republic 192.827 19 Moldova 2.700
10 Iceland 186.951

The table above shows the current number of streams for each song as of yesterday, Sunday 3 March. While nineteen songs are currently available on the platform, the entries from Albania, Lithuania, Montenegro, United Kingdom, Georgia and Serbia haven’t been released yet.

“Soldi” is the leader so far — and by some distance. The track has accumulated more than 1.5 million daily streams in Italy alone and already surpassed 20 million plays. Following behind are France and Spain which have also reached six-figures.

New to the top ten is Denmark’s Leonora, climbing from twelfth to sixth after her victory last Saturday. Moreover, new entries from Norway, Portugal and Iceland debut in the top ten.

Croatia’s “The Dream” no longer sits in last place. That unenviable honour now goes to Moldova — but there’s still plenty of time for that to change.

In the weeks leading up to Eurovision in Tel Aviv, we’ll be tracking the entries on Spotify and giving you an overview of which songs have made the biggest gains over the past seven days. It’s obviously not a perfect science, as you can stream artists from your home country. But it’s a fun barometer to look at anyway.

What do you think about the current Spotify stats? Do they indicate a possible win for Italy? Let us know in our comments below!

Since Malta isn’t on Spotify (at least i can’t find it) i think it’s not totaly correct. Ireland has just arrived so where is the truth. But Italy is really good ia ma not saying no to that but so is also Greece, Armenia and Malta. But i haven’t got my top 10 list. I am now down to 21 one and in the end of this week there will be like 15 and so on until i am down to 10

Estonian entry is doing quite well considering how small Estonia is compared to Italy, France and Spain who get their streams mostly from their native listeners.

Nice humour in the article about “replay”. 🙂
I assume that Italy is so high because of Italian listeners and not due to the rest of Europe?
Those figures are not very close, y’all.

wrong. if u look at the receipts on the spotify charts website, you’ll notice 10-15% of italy’s daily streams come from abroad (just compare the italian top 200 n the global one, which soldi left a couple of days ago). that means soldi has gotten 2m+ streams from abroad aka more than anyone else this year 🙂

Unfortunately it makes little mathematical sense to me, unless every song’s streams/plays are separated between those inside the country and those outside. France has over 5 million overall for example, but without the different figures from outside, I can’t accurately compare that with Italy. Florian even writes in the article that it’s “not a perfect science”, even though it actually can be a perfect science with a bit of extra stats. Also what’s the difference between “streams” and “plays”? However, if Italy is really so far ahead, then why bother with a live song contest at all – just award… Read more »

I know wiwibloggs has acknowledged it before, but I think it’s important to keep acknowledging the fact that Spotify isn’t available in some countries, is more popular in some countries, just so a casual follower of Eurovision doesn’t take too much from this ranking.

For me this is nonsense, because Spotify isn’t even available in many countries and most of the streams come from the countries from which are the songs so that doesn’t mean that the whole Europe will like it in May 🙂

That’s true.
But it’s always good to see some love and support from your country.

It’s so funny that the UK entry is still not on Spotify, probably because of the Revamp. And that will be just like last year: The same lame song with some electronic sprinkles added.

#MeToo Definitely not a good sign for May. But their song is one of those songs that is trully elevated by the live performance (their amazing onstage chemistry is something that can’t really be captured on an audio file) so I hope voters will like them more when they will actually see them performing on TV.

Spotify (last time i checked) is not even officially available in slovenia. Therefore i would say that the number of streams is actually relatively high (it is rather obvious that at this point those who are actively streaming songs are either from that specific country or massive eurofans)

Wow, good for Lenora I didn’t expect her to be 6th in streams (love is forever is my guilty pleasure, sorry about that Hatari)! I’m not surprised that Soldi has the most streams.

Also someone get this to William and Deban: https://www.reddit.com/r/eurovision/comments/asj74v/william_and_deban_in_10_years/

Denmark song is gorgeous.
Moldova needs an epic dress, like the most epic dress of all (Shiri Maimon 2005).
Don’t tell me that should be all about music, blah, blah, blah. Yeah right!
