One is the queen who won Eurovision 2018 with the female empowerment anthem “Toy”. The other is the queen who controversially didn’t even make it to the Eurovision stage in 2019. Despite their mixed fortunes, both Netta and Maruv won over many new fans through their Eurovision experience. And now, the pair have performed a mashup duet we’ve been dying to see.

Netta & Maruv — “Siren Banana”

Performing in front of thousands of fans at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Russia, the duet took the stage by storm — or bang. Netta started the performance by belting out the first verse of her new single “Nana Banana“, which she also performed during the Eurovision 2019 final. She is then joined by Maruv and the song seamlessly transitions into “Siren Song”. The Ukrainian diva also dazzles us with some signature sensual choreography, with Netta joining in.

Despite their two different styles, the “Siren Banana” mashup works. Maruv proved that she can hold her own alongside Eurovision royalty, sporting a sexy yellow outfit to match Netta’s “Nana Banana” theme.

The performance was part of the Europa Plus Live 2019 event in Moscow. The venue — the Luzhniki Stadium — also hosted the grand final of the FIFA World Cup in 2018. There was more Eurovision love to be felt throughout the event with other familiar faces taking the stage.

Arash ft. Helena — “Broken Angel”

Netta and Maruv weren’t the only Eurovision stars in the lineup. Arash — one half of Azerbaijan’s famous duet from 2009 — was on the scene to perform songs, including his 2014 single “Broken Angel”, featuring Helena Josefsson.

Mohombi — “Hello”

Melodifestivalen 2019 finalist Mohombi also performed a medley of his hits. His Melfest entry “Hello” was also part of the lineup as Mohombi took on Moscow. This wasn’t Mohombi’s first appearance at the event, having also performed in 2013. “Hello” brought the house down, with Mohombi adding a Russian touch to the song.

What do you think of the performances at Europa Plus? Which other Eurovision stars do you also want to see collaborate with each other? Let us know in the comments below.

Love Netta, getting to love Maruv!!

Hi Eurovision fans. The sun doesn’t shine out of your bums.
Yes this was not perfect, but yes, this is so much fun! Why trash this?

(this will get so many downvotes, but enough with the attitude!!)

So happy you wroteare about this festival, and not only about the most iconic thing like Netta&Maruv duo, but also about other Eurovision artists performing there!
On this festival there also performed Vanotek from Romanian National Selection 2016. Since then, he became extremely popular in Russia.

I agree with the majority who are commenting on the vocals. Its one thing having a great song but if your live performance is weak, then you will fail in the contest. Just look at Belgium this year. I still listen to the studio version, but the live show was such a letdown.

I know what you mean. It doesn’t hold together as strongly as the rest of the song. Having said that the song is still great but just not backed up by a solid live performances.

In music industry is a saying : Anybody can sing very well…one song. MARUV could have done it. And this is why some singing competition ask for two songs.

To me it sounds like the sound technicians messed up. You can barely hear her at some points.

I was there and the sound was great for all other artists, I think it is because of her weak voice.

“Nana Banana” and “Siren Song” are like chocolate and pizza. They’re both good, but you shouldn’t really mix them together.

More like pizza and pineapple — a surprising mix but not really in line with everyone’s flavor

ICONIC! if in some unforeseen circumstances that Ukraine and Israel joined forces to complete in ESC 2019 with this who thinks they would of won and how insane it would of been
