They were “Glorious” at Eurovision 2013, but it’s been a while since Cascada have gifted us with new music. However, the wait is finally over. A couple of days ago the group dropped “Like The Way I Do”, and their sound is still taking us to the dancefloor.

This new song is the group’s first release since “Back For Good“, which came out in July last year.

Nevertheless, the group, comprised of vocalist Natalie Horler and DJ’s Manian and Yanou, have still had a busy schedule in the meantime. They’ve continued performing at venues all over Europe. While “Glorious” didn’t perform as well as expected at Eurovision, clubs across the continent are still loving their music.

This new song sees the group rely on their strengths. It’s a classic EDM track, but turned into a modern 2019 club song. The use of processed vocal ad-libs in the chorus helps give the song a more contemporary electronic sound. The tropical drop also feels current even though summer is nearly over – it makes you relive all the high points of the past few months.

“Like The Way I Do” is surely set to find its way onto numerous DJ playlists. It follows the formula for a successful dance track, but also has the Cascada tagline to it. If you’re familiar with productions from Sigala or Jonas Blue then you should definitely check out this track too.

Naturally, the beat is the most important part of a dance song. But, the lyrics are definitely worth mentioning as well. In the song, Natalie Horler sings about a person she can’t get out of her head. Unfortunately, things don’t seem to have worked out between them previously, and the two of them are now dancing alone. However, Natalie is still hopeful that the sparks they once had can be reignited, singing: “And don’t you feel just a little like the way I do?”.

Cascada — “Like The Way I Do”

Following its release, “Like The Way I Do” entered the German iTunes sales charts. It also appeared in the charts for Austria, Spain and the United Kingdom. And the track is even making an impact in the US iTunes charts, sitting within the top 1500 songs.

Natalie first started teasing this new song back in July. The reaction from fans showed that there was definitely hype for the new track. Thankfully, the wait is now over and fans can finally listen to Cascada’s first new track in over a year.

I remember that German media declared her song as a Euphoria plagiarism. I still try to find the similarities…

I can’t understand Germany. So many citizens, but the worst pick. How is this even possible? Just pick the winner from a hat, random is better.

They should go internal and select Tom Beck or Ally Ryan

I love Cascada – Evacuate the Dancefloor and Everytime We Touch are absolute classics – still on my playlist now many years later. Darude, Tatu and I’m sure many others have proved that Eurovision is sometimes not the right platform for your career.

I also love “Everytime we touch” – but only the original version sung by Maggie Reilly
