We heard the snippets from Melodifestivalen 2020 Semi-Final 3 a few hours ago.

And now you can watch rehearsal clips from each act too.

That’s because broadcaster SVT has just uploaded clips to SVTPlay.

Melodifestivalen 2020 Semi-Final 3

Rehearsal Clips

You can watch each act’s rehearsals here.

  1. Mariette – “Shout It Out”
  2. Albin Johnsén – “Livet börjar nu”
  3. Drängarna – “Piga och dräng”
  4. Amanda Aasa – “Late”
  5. Anis don Demina – “Vem är som oss”
  6. Faith Kakembo – “Crying Rivers”
  7. Mohombi – “Winners”

These rehearsals offer a first indication, but the full performances will only air during the live broadcast of Semi-Final 3.

Melodifestivalen 2020 Semi-Final 3 Running Order

Producers shape each semi-final running order to offer contrasts. Thanks to the snippets we now have an indication of why each act is singing where it.

As in past weeks, Mariette opens the show with an upbeat number, albeit of a different flavour. “Shout It Out” has been touted as a Coldplay style number and the anthemic beat should get feet in the arena stomping.

Albin Johnsén follows in second with a slower effort in “Livet börjar nu”. Things change again with third position. Drängarna‘s song “Piga och dräng” sounds like Timoteij meets Rolandz and how that will play out remains to be seen.

At the midway point Amanda Aasa takes the stage. Her electropop entry “Late” is another change in genre and – despite the title – primarily sung in Swedish.

Things speed up in fifth with Anis don Demina. “Vem är som oss” fits neatly into the party song category we’ve seen provided in past years by acts like Samir & Viktor.

Faith Kakembo follows in sixth. “Crying Rivers” is an entry in the grand tradition of ballads. Which sets things up neatly for show closer Mohombi. “Winners” is an upbeat show closer, with strong sonic similarities to Mohombi’s last effort “Hello”.

What selection do have 28 SUPER STRONG songs that all have the chance to win? Its kind of strange you all think Sweden should have that and no other selection. Stop put Sweden over the clouds!

Anna Bergendahl certainly has the strongest song so far. Heat 3 seems to be really weak and full of generic songs.

I think this is easily the weakest heat so far. I don’t see any of the songs here challenging for the win. Having said that, if I had to put 2 in the final, it would be Drangarna, because I found this the most enjoyable and it has quite a happy vibe to it, and I’m drawn to Faith Kakembo as well, there’s something about the song and her voice which I really like. If I had to put 2 in andra chansen, it would be Mariette, because whilst I think the performance looks promising, and she sounds great and… Read more »

Best song is completely debatable. Are you forgetting about Anna Bergendahl?

The performance is better than the song in the case of Anna. it’s a bit dated and honestly the Juries will destroy it in the final.

I like Faith and Drängarna still.

But nothing in this semi is a threat to DOTTER and ANNA.

I had higher hopes for Albin. He’s looking good but the staging leaves me uninspired. Im still meh about Anis’ song but it looks like they are pulling all the stops to at least get him to AC. Anyway here are my current temporary qualifiers. 1. Drangarna – Pure fun and my kind of music. In any other semi I feel like they would skim by getting into AC. In this one they stand out. 2. Faith – Great staging and I really like the 50’s vibe of the song. It would be a nice unique entry in the mix.… Read more »

Knowing the melodifestivalen production team, if Drängarna goes to the final – either directly or through Andra chansen – I’m 98% certain the producers will put them in the 12th spot to close the show.

I can’t see the 12th spot going to anyone but Anna with her spectacular show.

I can imagine Anna going 10th or 11th. If you look back at recent years those are the spots that usually are reserved for bookie favorites – Frans, Benjamin Ingrosso, Nano, Wiktoria and so on. Ever since the final was expanded to 12 songs instead of 10 the 12th spot has usually been reserved for comedy/novelty acts (Owe, Samir & Victor, Arvingarna, Hasse etc) which is why I’m certain Drängarna will perform last if they proceed. I do not get why producers keep doing the running order like that however, and I would much more prefer if a song like… Read more »

Hey, I wouldn’t put Arvingarna or Hasse in that category. To me it’s more the feel-good/nostalgia spot. Nanne could also be 12th, I would say, if she gets to the final.

Okay, now after seeing the rehearsals I still rather like Mariette’s song. I don’t see why the press hated it… but I do like female pop songs so I might be biased, but to me it is a good(if generic) female pop song. I also rather liked Drängarna and Amanda’s song’s… I love that they aren’t in English and I dunno just they sounded pretty(well Amanda sounded pretty, Drängarna sounded so fun and campy but campy in a good way). I was expecting for Anis’s song to be better live and it was… rap just works better live for me… Read more »

That’s just it, it’s generic and bland. Not bad. The “hate” is more disappointment than anything else, everyone expected her to be in it to win it and that’s obviously not the case.

Yeah I suppose that makes since. I’m hoping the fourth semi has a song that speaks to me more. The first semi I liked The Mama’s song the most but I don’t care enough to listen to it on my own time. The second semi was Anna and Dotter’s songs but agian they were just nice but not outstanding. I’m not a huge pop song kinda guy(more of a rock/edm/punk guy) and honestly I cant recall what they both sounded like off the top of my head, just that I did enjoy them. Anyway after we’ve heard the songs from… Read more »

Mohombi’s staging is just Qami and a bit of CIty Lights (at a certain point there were the same triangles as Blanche’s staging on the LED background. Faith looks superb. Based on what I saw, she should have no problem to reach the final directly (and I hope so!). I don’t find Mariette as bad as many say, but certainly comparing this to Don’t Stop Believing and A Million Years it’s a bit of a flop, but not bad at all in any way imo. Drängarna is such a guilty pleasure for me (not saying it’s bad, of course). Really… Read more »

The press didn’t like Mariette. But I do! I think she have a chance of reaching the final. And Shout it out is not bad at all. Then I like Mohombi. But Hello was better. Not sure about his staging. He’s gonna fly at some point as well. Faith’s song is so smooth and I like her voice. But she looks nervous, I hope she will be able to relax. The stagings in this SF does not look as they were.well-planned. A typical 3rd SF. But that does not take away what is already in the final. Anna and Dotter… Read more »

Personally, I think Kingdom Come and Shout It Out are very similar in style. And if I had to choose between these two, I would say Anna B all the way. If Marriette goes DTF, they might cancel each other out. Or at least one of them is gonna flop really hard.

How very Qami of Mohombi. :)) So this week is definitely not Sacha and team’s finest works. Faith Kakembo’s staging looks the best of this batch. I still think Drangarna are going DTF, not sure about the others.

3. Faith
4. Mariette
5. Anis
