Sanremo 2021: Irama “La genesi del tuo colore”
This is the third Sanremo participation for Filippo Maria Fanti, aka Irama. He first appeared in the Newcomers’ section in 2016 with “Cosa resterà”. He competed in the main contest in 2019, finishing seventh with “La ragazza col cuore di latta”. The winner of the 17th edition of the talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, Irama is somewhat of a surprise returnee to the competition after his mega successful summer hits “Arrogante” and “Mediterranea”.
What do the “La genesi del tuo colore” lyrics mean?
Irama brings vocal filters and special effects to Sanremo with “La genesi del tuo colore” (The Genesis Of Your Colour). It’s a song so fast and modern that it borders on dance music. The sounds are reminiscent of a summer hit, as is the invitation to sing, dance and cry until you lose your voice. The phrase to remember? “Colour your soul with a tear”.

Wow this song is so marvelous! I really like it! The performance too!
So night 2 was better than the first night. But wow, Irama has the best song head-and-shoulders above all the rest. If he wins Sanremo and goes to Eurovision we could be in for an awesome ride. This is raw, authentic thrilling and distinctive. Irama is transitioning from fun-loving boy to man about town with an edge. Irama – he’s the one to watch.
