Fifth evening: The final — Saturday 5 February
Time: 20:45 CET to 01:45 CET
The 25 acts will perform their songs one final time. By the end of the night, we will have a new Sanremo champion.
Unlike other Eurovision-related festivals, the winner will not necessarily be the act that goes to the song contest. Before the contest, acts are required to tell the broadcaster whether they would be willing to represent Italy at Eurovision or not. If the Sanremo winner has agreed to do Eurovision, they’ll get the ticket to Turin. If not, RAI will internally select one of the other competitors.
Ana Mena, the best!!!
My Top 3 for the second evening:
Un Caro Saluto Da Viviana E Franco Dal Canada.
Holy Moly. Chimica was amaaaaaaazing!!! What a song! <3
I am very disappointed with the organisation, I cannot understand how such a renowned festival can have such serious problems with the sound and effects. Many performers had problems with it, which was very clearly visible, only in the case of two performances the microphone volume was well adjusted to the volume of the background music. Unfortunately, this will have a negative impact on the ratings, a good example is Giusy Ferreri or Ana Mena (her vocals were weak, I admit, but the sound team should have adjusted the microphone volume, it happens at every concert), Mahmood’s vocals were louder… Read more »
Pretty pleased with tonight’s results and the songs
It ended fifteen minutes early… not expected. I wonder if tomorrow night will be the same.
Final score of the first evening:
1) Mahmood and Blanco
2) La Rappresentante di Lista
3) Dargen d’Amico.
Vincenzo, my top four:
1.Mahmood & Blanco
2. Michele Bravi
3. Noemi
4. Giusy Ferreri.
Let’ s see this night: Emma, Elisa, Irama.
I just reported the final classification of the show, not my preferences. My preferred are (from top to bottom) : Mahmood and Blanco, Michele Bravi, Noemi and Gianni Morandi. We share the first 3 positions. 🙂
How are people watching this live? I keep trying through Rai’s website but it keeps crashing. Found a livestream on YouTube but that’s been taken down now. Any help?
App or web. It’s not geoblocked
So having now seen all the live performances and having no knowledge about the studio versions beforehand my only reaction to this semi is: This was quite bad overall. Either they all or most of them had serious problems with their in ear piece, or they just sang very poorly, almost all of them. Best vocal performance was by Mahmood and Blanco, but the song isnt that amazing, despite it being a touching performance. I do like it still though, but its way way way below the standard Mahmood brought to Eurovision 2019. I think out of the 12 songs… Read more »
What a QUALITY. Most of the entries are TOP10 worthy in eurovision, weird thing I didn’t watch Sanremo previous years. This is amazing
Mahmood and blanco are absolute icons and have fantastic chemistry. But Lets be honest, this song is not it
I don’t agree, maybe you will think differently after more listens.
Meduza ans Hozier. So good
Wow. The dance session with Meduza is unexpected.
But very well accepted!
Giusy had an elegant performance to close the evening. As usually, I’ll listen to all the songs again in the studio version, and then again in the finals. So far, I’d call Mahmood & Blanco, Noemi, Michele Bravi standouts of the first night. Of course, I expect more songs to be growers.
My list is similar to yours, I would just add La Rappresentante di Lista. Can’t wait to listen to the studio versions.
Overall, a very pleasant night. All the entries were at least decent, the guests were awesome and the show flowed much better than any Sanremo serata I’ve ever watched.
I agree with that last phrase completely. I hope the rest of the evenings also have a similar flow. Also La Rappresentante di Lista have a better song this year than last year surely.
I disagree, because I’m still deeply in love with “Amare”. But I liked the fact they didn’t try to do the same thing and went in another direction. The only problem is that I don’t see something so jolly winning Sanremo. But hey, I wasn’t expecting a rock band to win last year, so…
Dardust should be remembered, I think he was an important part of what made last year’s song so good.
Fair enough. Just like Mahmood, Dardust has a fantastic recent record in Sanremo.
Props for the flow of the show indeed. Only one night so far, and we got 12 at least okay candidates, two standout performances from Maneskin, Ornella Muti’s presence and anecdotes, Orietta Berti, the performance of Colapesce & Dimartino, and Medvza ft. Hozier. I can’t wait for the other nights! This is why I love Sanremo.
I agree, LRdL is also good. Very fun indeed. I’ll also add Massimo’s name. A really good old-fashioned song.
Where are you from Colin? Where do you live?
Croatia. You, Vincenzo?
Italy, of course! 🙂 Close to Milano.
I think Coraline was the best act of the day… It was like 2 levels above all the other perfomances!
Måneskin definitely are something else. I still don’t believe Italy had such precious gem from years and it got the success they deserved only from Sanremo.
Definitely I don’t think anything this eurovision will come close to that performance.
I’ll never be able to decipher the pacing of Sanremo. In most other selections, no matter how long they are, there is some pattern in how songs are presented. If they have 12 songs, it’s 6+6, or 3+3+3+3, or 4+4+4, or in any metric way. Sanremo just throws that logic out of the window, and we have 4 in a row, then two intervals, then one more song, the three more intervals, then two more songs, ect. It definitely keeps it unpredictable. 🙂
Niiiice Guisy!! I love youuuuu!! Such a lovely song. My favorite of this evening.
Is brividi on Spotify yet I love it so much thank you mahmood and blanco for my newest obsession
And the winner is: https://www.raiplay.it/video/2022/02/Sanremo-2022-prima-serata-I-Maneskin-cantano-Coraline-75d3d9aa-7e64-468a-960b-13d869041538.html
So happy that they played this one! Damiano was pure emotion while singing it, it was great.
Yeah, exceptional!
The comparisons with Maneskin don’t favour the participants of this year’s festival! The first night was decent but no song really made me get winner vibes. Maybe it’s because I have very high expectations from Sanremo. Waiting for some songs to grow on me!
It also took me a while to like it, but nowadays I love it almost as much as I love “Amare”, “Voce” and “Zitti e buoni”.
Musica Leggerissima as fresh and amazing as the first day.
Incredible song. Masterpiece
Yeeees, nice to hear “Musica leggerissima” again. One of the best songs last year.
Hard to believe that Orietta Berti is 78. Such a beautiful lady!
Yes. And her energy is admirable. She is 78, and one of the biggest stars in Italy right now. Not by resting on her old laurels, but by producing new music every year. Just wow!
Maneskin just reminded me how all of tonights songs dont go anywhere
Ornella Muti is just as gorgeous as ever. Definitely one of the most distinguished Italian film stars. Such a delight seeing her on Sanremo. Teenage me is still in love with Princess Aura in Flash Gordon. 😉
I can’t get out Dove si balla from my head.
I like it.
Dargen was fine, but I fear Italian press has overhyped him a bit.
Oh, it’s a good addition to the lineup, that’s for sure. But for me it was just midtable tonight.
I don’t know what’s happening, but it’s not even midnight in Italy and Giusy Ferreri is the only one that hasn’t performed yet.
It’s only 23:36 here. 🙂 They are faster than usual.
And yeah, Maneskin were outstanding once again!
Dove si balla was just bloody catchy. From start to end. Infectious
A tune. A hit.
It has put a smile on my face, for sure.
Very different to the winner of two years ago, even though they share a songwriter.
Maneskin, first time I heard Coraline. MEGA!
Mahmoood and Blanco delivered a great performance. My top pick! And what a great show from special guests Maneskin. They get better and better
Wow is all I can say to Maneskins performance. I’ve never been their biggest fan, but they truly just showed me why they won eurovision last year. Such power, drama and real emotion, kind of wish they were singing this song for Italy this year.
I’ve just cried with Damiano
Incredible performance of Coraline. Full of emotions
“Coraline”! It’s my cue to insist that Maneskin’s songs in Italian are so much better. I hope they don’t stop writing on their own language.
Ana Mena’s song feels quite breezy, and has a really nice melody. Despite being in Italian, it sounds quite Spanish in style, which definitely adds to the diversity of this selection. And this wouldn’t be Sanremo without a cool rap song, so thank you for that, Rkomi!
Am I the only one here who did not like Mahmood’s and Blanco’s performance? It was like a bad battle from ‘The Voice’, their voices do not fit at all, they did not sing as a team and I could see no chemistry that everyone else below mentioned. Such a disappointment.
As always, I totally agree with you!!! About Massimo. And with Mahmood, we need a few more listens to deepen it. But it touched me already deeply the first time
What a vocal delivery and chemistry between Mahmood and Blanco! This is certainly a contender to win! Just lovely!
“Brividi” is quite stuck in my head after the first listen, I think the orchestration plays a key role here. I like how they alternate and superimpose their voices too. Have to wait until we have the final 25 songs to evaluate if this one can be my personnal winner or not but it remains a strong possibility at the moment.
can someone confirm to me that the mahmood blanco song was a love duet? because it felt that way to me <3
It’s a love song and we could feel the electricity in the air! I’m curious to rewatch it while reading the lyrics, because the first time I read them, it wasn’t clear it needed to be a duet, but maybe there’s some extra storytelling when we pay attention to who’s singing which part.
thanks! <3
What a beautiful performance by Mahmood & Blanco. The chorus is already echoeing inside my head. Serious contender, as expected.
Mahmood and Blanco gave me goosebumps. WOW. Such voices and such a chemistry. Brilliant.
LRDL were also fantastic. And it’s just the first evening. This year is going to be even more exciting. Good job Amadeus!
I am deeply touched. Nothing else matter, they carried me away…
I felt a lot of things with Mahmood and Blanco.
Not gonna lie
Songs of Mahmood & Blanco is awesome. I believe they will win it all.
I like all the songs until now. Incredible!
Zitti e buoni with orchestra is such an experience.
Those violins.
Sucks for those performing after that maneskin performance.. blown away again
Well it’s mahmood lol. So I think he will be alright
