Mahmood Blanco Elisa

After four long nights, Italy’s iconic Sanremo Music Festival 2022 comes to an end this evening. And, hopefully, before the night is out, we’ll know Italy’s next Eurovision representative.

Here’s when and how you can watch Sanremo online.

Watch Festival di Sanremo 2022 online

Fifth evening: The final | Quinta serata: Finale — Saturday 5 February

Time: 20:45 CET to 01:45 CET

RAI will stream the Sanremo final on RAIPlay.

Watch Sanremo 2022 on RAIPlay.

All performances are uploaded to YouTube immediately after the broadcast. Alas, RAI usually removes them shortly after the last night of the Festival.

There are 25 acts battling it out to win the festival. They are:

  • Achille Lauro “Domenica”
  • AKA 7even “Perfetta così”
  • Ana Mena “Duecentomila ore”
  • Dargen D’Amico “Dove si balla”
  • Ditonellapiaga con Rettore “Chimica”
  • Elisa “O forse sei tu”
  • Emma “Ogni volta è così”
  • Fabrizio Moro “Sei tu”
  • Gianni Morandi “Apri tutte le porte”
  • Giovanni Truppi “Tuo padre, mia madre, Lucia”
  • Giusy Ferreri “Miele”
  • Highsnob e Hu “Abbi cura di te”
  • Irama “Ovunque sarai”
  • Iva Zanicchi “Voglio amarti”
  • La Rappresentante di Lista “Ciao ciao”
  • Le Vibrazioni “Tantissimo”
  • Mahmood e Blanco “Brividi”
  • Massimo Ranieri “Lettera di là dal mare”
  • Matteo Romano “Virale”
  • Michele Bravi “Inverno dei fiori”
  • Noemi “Ti amo non lo so dire”
  • Rkomi “Insuperabile”
  • Sangiovanni “Farfalle”
  • Tananai “Sesso occasionale”
  • Yuman “Ora e qui”

How will the Sanremo winner be picked?

Voting during the five evenings will occur through different combinations of three methods:

  • Public televoting, carried out via landline, mobile phone, the contest’s official mobile app and online voting.
  • Press jury voting, expressed by accredited print, radio and web journalists that followed the competition from the Roof Hall at the Ariston Theatre.
  • demoscopic poll, composed by 1000 music fans who voted from their homes via an electronic voting system managed by global market research and a consulting firm Ipsos.

The four voting systems will have a percentage weight so distributed:

  • First and Second Evening: 100% press jury voting
  • Third Evening: 50% public televoting; 50% demoscopic poll
  • Fourth Evening: 34% public televoting; 33% demoscopic poll; 33% press jury voting
  • Fifth Evening: 100% public televoting

In the final part of the fifth evening, a new rank indicating the first three acts — determined by the percentage of votes obtained in this evening’s vote and those obtained in previous evenings — will be drawn up.

  • Superfinal: 34% public televoting; 33% press jury voting; 33% demoscopic poll

Do you need to be in Italy to watch Rai online, live? If so, how do you watch it outside of Italy?

Outside Italy, you can watch Sanremo, live,on RaiPlay. Rai removes the geo block just before Sanremo starts.

The San Remo winners of 2015-2021 all had a different running order number on each night of the show. If this continues like that, we can already write off 3 of the provisional top 7 candidates: Elisa, Irama and La Reppresentante di Lista. Mahmood & Blanco, Emma, Gianni Morandi and Sangiovani all had different running order numbers on each night. 2019, 2020 and 2021 showed us that winning San Remo again as a previous winner is hard. Ermal Meta, Francesco Gabbani and Il Volo all did well enough to get into the top 3 provisional ranking, but all ended up… Read more »

Sangiovanni will NEVER win the press vote. In the first performance, with 100% press vote, he was very low. Mahmood/Blanco will win the press vote and also the demoscopic jury vote, I think. Sangiovanni can only count on the televote. But considering the numbers Brividi is doing on Youtube and Spotify, I am quite sure Mahmood/Blanco will win the televote, too.

Nice stats haha, Always fun to read this type of things imo (:
Just, i think Emma already won ! Not in 2014 when she represented Italy at ESC, but something like 2012 i think ?

Didn’t know that. I only know the stats of 2015-2021. My bad.

Emma and Elisa are also past Sanremo winners. Meta and Il Volo didn’t win, but their songs weren’t really that strong, maybe Gabbani would fit in your theory. And Blanco isn’t a past winner, so maybe that should count…
I think it’s between Mahmood+Blanco and Elisa.

In 2019 no one thought Mahmood would do well with the demoscopic vote, but eventually on the last day he did. Same could happen with Sangiovanni with the press vote, everything is possible. San Remo is unpredictable.

Elisa yesterday evening was awesome. Incredible! Magnificent. But, unfortunately, her song for the competition is not as powerful as his performance of yesterday. I am still rooting for Mahmood/Blanco, but Elisa may win, and then bring another english song to Eurovision, something like No Heroes to enter the UK and US Marketsx too, as for the Måneskin.

I think at the end the podium will be Mahmood and Blanco, Gianni Morandi and Irama/Sangiovanni and in that case the winners will definetely be Mahmood and Blanco because the press will mostly vote for them in the superfinal. If Elisa manages to stay in the top 3 though the voting could be more split

Irama has a good song, but he has a very rough attitude onstage. He is always kinda angry, quite introverted onstage. Yesterday with Grignani he was better. Be he lacks of expressiveness and his outfits don’t help, too. Don’t know if he will ever get the recognition of the televote only for the song. Probably he will be 4th or 5th.

I like his stage presence. Yes, it’s not the brightest out there, but he feels very natural.

Martin Osterdahl is in Sanremo today and will be watching the final live this evening in Ariston Theatre. Hope he will be onstage to speak briefly, too. Info from his instagram account.

wowww …. tonight on the stage of Sanremo they will talk about Eurovision and our Raffaella. What an emotion! one of the most beautiful San Remo I’ve ever seen. really beautiful songs, female conductors one better than the other, Amadeus super. Good job. Share fourth night: 60,5% (+15,8 vs 2021) . Graet success, the highest since 1995.

Stasera sarà un show superlativo, 70% share. 🙂 Ehhh…

Fidati.

Ora andrà a Rai Intrattenimento Prime Time e farà benissimo.

Yes I think you might be right with the top 3. I feel like Elisa is losing some momentum, but Gianni morandi might replace irama/sangiovanni in the top 3.

Personally want to see Mahmood back at Eurovision since I prefer his song to the rest, but it’s a great Sanremo year and I feel like no matter who wins Italy can be proud of their entry. Looking forward to tonight! 🙂

Top 3 should be: Matteo Romano, La Rappresentante di Lista and Elisa. But I wouldn’t mind Gianni Morandi in there as well instead of Elisa.

Elisa would have to cut almost a minute of her song for ESC. Could go either way, good or bad.

Who said she wants to go to ESC? Victory in Sanremo doesn’t mean winner will go to ESC no matter what. Maybe she only wants to promote herself and her music?

Bruh, so aggressive. She has 4 minutes long song, so it’s not for Eurovision. And it’s really impossible to cut out 1 minute without damage on quality, since this whole song has really tight and complete structure.

No song is for Eurovision. They’re all for Sanremo. That’s precisely what I’m wondering, how it will sound cut down. Almost every if not every Italian ESC entrant had to cut their song.

If she wins and decide to partecipate to esc, she’ll bring another song for sure. And in English, since the majority of her discography is in English and she loves wrinting songs in that language.
Sanremo winners are not obligated to bring their Sanremo song, they are only selected as the competing artist, they can bring the song they want to esc.

I know, I remember Nina Zilli did that. I think that would be a pity, unless she had sth even better. But this one is so emotional.
