Here’s a press release worth sharing. Susanne Georgi — Andorra’s last Eurovision singer and the woman who has been pushing hardest for their return to the contest — is joining the jury panel for San Marino’s Eurovision 2022 national final.
The “Get a Life” singer will travel to San Marino on February 17 along with Francesca Aaen, director and vocal coach of Stars Academy — Susanne’s music school in Andorra.
“I am immensely happy and honoured to have been chosen as a juror for the festival,” she says of Una Voce per San Marino.
“They know everything I’m fighting for — Andorra to return to Eurovision. San Marino, as a small state, they also want Andorra to return to the festival.”
Susanne also sees it as an opportunity to absorb information and ideas herself.
“Andorra can learn a lot from San Marino, it is also a small state that has not stopped fighting and betting on the great dissemination and promotion of being present at the Eurovision Song Contest. Last year their effort was rewarded and they reached the final! It was sensational to see a small state defend its colours alongside the larger ones.”
San Marino cited Susanne’s well-established music career and her involvement in Eurovision as a reason to enlist her help. But they also point to her work at Stars Academy, where she trains the next generation of singers and performers as a vocal coach.
Susanne and Francesca will be in San Marino for the semifinals on February 17 and for the grand final on February 19.
As you’ll recall, Susanne has been pushing for Andorra’s return to the contest. At various points she has secured funding and things looked very promising.
But, given that we’ve been in a global pandemic, it’s understandable that things were put on pause. Below you can hear our chat from August 2020.
Susanne’s participation on the San Marino jury suggests that she’s still got Eurovision on the mind. Are you excited that she’ll be helping guide the contestants in San Marino? Do you have your fingers crossed for Andorra’s Eurovision return? Let us know down below!
what is this? a crossover episode?
Kudos to San Marino for this move! I want Monaco-Andorra-San Marino alliance.
Anyway, I want so badly to see Andorra back. They can get the runner up of Benidorm to represent them!
I love this woman and I admire the passion she has for the contest! I wholeheartedly hope that Andorra comes back some day soon.
I think Andorra can look at Czech Republic’s example, the contest was also irrelevant there until some point of the last decade and now the interest gets higher year after year.
She should be picked as San Marino’s representative in 2023. Such a nice lady!
She’s truly enthusiastic about the contest. Good pick, San Marino.
La Rappresentante di Lista are in discussions to represent San Marino this year with the song “Ciao ciao”. Check online on the Italian news.
I obviously preferred BLANCO & Mahmood, but LRDL were good, too. Happy for them and San Marino!
I hope Susanne’s dream about Andorra returning to ESC will come true very soon. I was really hoping for them to return this year seeing how passionate Susanne was about her plans of making Andorra come back
I support Suzan’s opinion, even Monaco will be potentially next year, why Andorra does not want, despite Suzan’s strong commitment, even San Marino tries in its own way and gives results, let Andorra understand that without participation people will forget that there is such a country.
Love this women!
She tries so hard to keep esc spirit alive in a countru where that spirit is far gone and now she is helping out!

An off-top-ish question: what’s the full name of the backstage host of “Una voce per San Marino”? If I remember correctly one of the contestants called him Lorenzo.
That’s IROL. He’s a rapper from San Marino. His name is Lorenzo Salvatori.
Oh, that was him who sent the Sammarinese douze-points to Jamala. Interesting.
This lady is just awesome!
