Mahmood Blanco

It’s another Super Duper Saturday! There are seven selection shows and by the time we all head to bed, we’ll have new Eurovision 2022 entries from Croatia, Malta, Norway, Poland, San Marino and Slovenia. But first we can reveal your favourite out of the acts selected so far — Italy’s Mahmood and Blanco with “Brividi”.

Poll results: Italy’s Mahmood and Blanco are your favourite Eurovision 2022 act so far (19 February)

Since 14 February, 9,312 votes were cast in our poll. Of these, 19.50% went to the Sanremo champsThat amounts to a grand total of 1,816 votes. The “Brividi” duo also topped last week’s poll.

Once again, Spain’s Chanel must make do with second position. “SloMo” managed to get 1,590 votes or 17.07% of all votes cast.

In fact, the entire podium remains unchanged from a week ago, with North Macedonia’s Andrea taking bronze for a second time. The “Circles” songstress attracted 1,121 votes or 12.04% of all votes cast.

This poll was launched after the Vidbir final, but before Alina Pash stepped aside from Eurovision. “Shadows Of Forgotten Ancestors” was already proving popular with our readers, taking 889 votes or 9.55% of all votes. However, we’ll never know how the entry might have fared in Turin.

Italy has no chance to win. It’s a boring song that is so overrated.

I wouldn’t think Italy has some many Eurovision fans. Italy has one of the lowest audience percentage among Eurovision countries. Sanremo Festival final night: audience 64% (second part 72%). Instead Eurovision final has just an average of 20% audience over the years (last year 24% with the anticipated Maneskin victory). When Italy returned audience was 8%.

The results for Italy year after year prove Italy is not overrated.

1) Italy, though it’s away from Soldi, hope, we ll get better entries from France, Poland or Slovenia soon
2) Lihuania
3) Ireland, but staging and precision must B improved
4) Czechia
5) Spain , though I don’t like that kind of Latino music
6) Estonia
7) Moldova; childish, but with pepper
8)Latvia
9) Northeim Macedonia
10) Albania
11) Israel
12) Bulgaria
Still 29 entries that might turn ESC ’22 into a good year

All Baltics this year offer strong and distinct songs. Latvia is my favorite with Lithuania second and Estonia third (despite that they are still solid performances).

Downvote me all you want, but I feel no sympathy for Italy this year. The song’s just weak and doesn’t impact me the way it should.

Lol North Macedonia is so so bad. Spain is also a poor offering.

As they should be. After hearing the other songs so far they all seem to me too generic. Italy’s entry as usual is instantly impactful. Italy’s San Remo has always been classy and Italians vote for the song they like best for themselves and not for the ESC. That is why I think Italy is always successful.

Brividi is just a generic Italian ballad, idk what everyone sees in it

Every constructive critic is welcomed. But you obviously are talking non sense. It is a ballad with R&B influence (Mahmood) and a trap influence and a rap verse (Blanco). So I can’t see a ‘generic’ ballad! Try again.

Adding those two doesn’t make it not be generic.

Y’all just hate Ireland don’t yaz? Lol
Like below Albania? Lithuania? Estonia?

Jk no worries
Used to it now in the fandom

I do really like Italy and Spain though, definitely get winner vibes the most from Italy and Spain is finally delivering the bops they should have been sending way before now. I expect a great result from them this year.
Interesting to see if Ukraine will still be top 5 if Kalush Orchestra takes the offer to go to Turin.

Bulgaria’s song is so so weak, and it’s still more enjoyable to listen than the Estonian, Macedonian and Israeli zero original ones.

I personally find the song from Italy to be incredibly overhyped, but I can understand that in such a weak year so far that people are gagging over it.

Hoping that the next batch of countries can save 2022 for me.

Good luck to all the entrants….

It’s only because of Mahmood. Fandom loves idea of returining artists for some reason

I hope North Macedonia soon realises that they’re just embarrassing themselves by skewing the result like that…

I mean, it’s borring, right, but look at for example Bulgaria. You can do way worse. It’s nowhere close to being “good” but it’s above all “bad” ones so far. And there’s couple of them already

I mentioned it in the previous week: Eurovision Macedonia insta page repeatedly shares the poll on their stories. Hence why Macedonia third again.
