Eurovision 2022 Schedule 19th February

We have fewer shows compared to the previous two Saturdays. However, tonight is arguably the most super duper Saturday of them all as we have a whopping six finals! Croatia, Malta, Norway, Poland, San Marino and Poland will all choose their acts for Turin. Meanwhile, Sweden continues with another heat.

Before the night is out, we will have half a dozen new Eurovision 2022 tracks to add to our playlists. Here are all the details you need for 2022’s seventh Saturday of national selections.

You can follow all the results on wiwibloggs (and via our Twitter: @wiwibloggs and Instagram: wiwibloggs) throughout the day. Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening, when it’s on and how to watch.

Saturday 19 February: Eurovision 2022 Selection Shows

Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 19:55 CET to 22:00 CET

We’ve had four regular semis, a second chance special and a last chance show. And now, after all that, Norway is ready to choose its Melodi Grand Prix 2022 winner. Ten acts remain in the running, including five automatic qualifiers who skipped the earlier stages completely. There will be three rounds of voting. After the first round, four will progress to the gold final. More voting will choose a top two for the gold duel, from which a winner will be chosen by the regions of Norway.

Poland’s Europy! Wybieramy hity na Eurowizję 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 20:00 CET to 21:40 CET

After last year’s internal selection, Poland is returning to a national selection process for Eurovision 2022. But both its recent formats Krajowe Eliminacje and Szansa na Sukces have been left in the past in favour of the newTu bije serce Europy! Wybieramy hity na Eurowizję. The result will be determined across two stages. In the first round, three acts will be selected by a 50/50 public and jury to go to the superfinal. Azerbaijan’s Eurovision 2011 winners Ell and Nikki are set to perform as guests, as are several past Polish Eurovision and Junior Eurovision singers.

Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2022

Heat three | Deltävling 3

Time: 20:00 CET to 21:30 CET

Sweden is the odd one out, being the only show on tonight’s schedule not to being choosing its winner. Instead this third heat will see seven acts sing it out for a chance to reach the Melfest final. As always, two will go direct to the final and two more will get a second chance later in the series.

Croatia’s Dora 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 20:10 CET to 22:25 CET

The selection will see 14 artists perform. The results will by a 50/50 public and jury split. The 2022 finalists include recent Dora favourites like Mia Negovetić and Bernarda.

The show is also due to be livestreamed on the broadcaster’s YouTube channel.

Slovenia’s EMA 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 20:20 CET to 22:20 CET

We’ve had lots of online duels, an EMA Freš final and two semi-finals. And tonight we reach the end of the road in Slovenia with the grand final of EMA 2022. Twelve acts remain in contention to represent the country at Eurovision in May. A combination of points from six juries and the public vote will decide who represents Slovenia in Italy. The juries will be made up of OGAE Slovenia members, songwriters, radio and TV personalities, music performers and international artists.

Malta’s MESC 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 21:00 CET to 23:30 CET

We’ve had a semi-final which started and ended with 22 acts. A Eurovision gala one night later saw the 22 reduced to 16. And then, over night, one of the eliminated artists won a wildcard place for the final. And while the whole process has seen us lose just five acts, Malta’s MESC 2022 will most definitely finish tonight with only one winner!

Una voce per San Marino 2022

🏆 Grand Final

Time: 21:00 CET to 00:10 CET

All week long, San Marino has been taking us on a new national selection journey filled with twists and turns and a whole lot more. Now, after several preliminary rounds, we’re ready for the grand final of Una voce per San Marino. The live grand final will be hosted by Eurovision 2021 singer Senhit and Jonathan Kashanian. The nine “emerging” qualifiers from earlier in the week will be joined by ten established acts.

Short resume of the results of last night:

  • Poland and Norway both picked songs I love, and I can see both of them being my overall winners. 🙂
  • Slovenia and Malta picked among the best songs they had, and I am happy.
  • San Marino needs to upload at least a semi-HQ version for me to have a real opinion on it, but it will be cool to see Achille Lauro in ESC.
  • Solid results from Melfest.
  • I’ll write separately on Croatia and Dora.

I am with NRK and Norway this evening, but I will be keeping an eye on the others as well.

The live discussion posts are a good idea, but I’ll miss the mix of national finals on this one. 🙁

I’ll try to watch Croatia and Poland at the same time and hopefully I’ll still catch some from San Marino before jumping from country to country to watch the voting segments.

PS: A little hurt that Croatia doesn’t want me to watch their loto results. Norway always let me do it!

Does anybody know how I can setup my wide screen monitor with four “full screen” video streams? Display Fusion doesn’t really work. Any other ideas?

You can maybe zoom in a bit in each tab so that it feels like full screen (or watch them on youtube with theater mode)

Here are my faves:

Malta: Nicole Azzopardi (her song is a breath of fresh air, the song is retro, but it brings back the happy times! I’d be happy with Aidan or Emma Muscat too)

Norway: Maria Mohn (her song is soooo powerful, Subwoolfer is also a potential option)

Poland: Kuba (Ochmann is a good option too)

San Marino: Burak Yeter (I’m not sure because it’s been difficult to be able to listen to all the songs)

Slovenia: BQL (Luma creeps me out LOL)

Croatia: Toma (Marko and Mia are good too!)

It is certainly possible. A lot of things can change during the live show. I think the top 2 will be Elsie and Subwoolfer and after that who knows what can happen.

Now this is what I call a super Saturday. Six finals! However, I am currently attending a Doctor Who convention this weekend and I’m going to be too busy To watch any of these finals. I’ll just find out the results after the end of the day.

Good luck everybody, may the best act win!

I’ll be watching MGP tonight as I’ve followed it since the first heat, so it’s only fair to see its finale as well. I haven’t heard the entries of the other NFs so I am waiting for 5 more good Eurovision songs while having no idea who is in the running to be among these 5 songs. I hope that I will like at least more than 3 of tonight’s winners.

My wishes and predictions for tonight: Norway: I really hope Elsie Bay can sneak to victory but it’s likely gonna be Subwoolfer (something I would’ve loved as a kid) Croatia: It’s time for Mia Negovetic to finally win and get third time lucky but I feel Marko Bosnjak will edge it Slovenia: Gusti feat. Leyre with their awesome one take performance would be a first for ESC but I’d be equally happy if fan favorites Luma end up as victors Malta: Nicole Azzopardi made me less bored among such a weak field of songs but Emma Muscat is probably gonna… Read more »

My wishes for tonight: Norway: Subwoolfer, but I’d be very happy with Maria Mohn or Elsie as well. Poland: Krystian Ochman Croatia: Mia Negoveti? Slovenia: Several equally good options. Malta: Nicole Hammett (not gonna happen, but I’m just saying…) San Marino – I’d say Aaron Sibley so far, but we are 9 songs short, so the right answer is ”I don’t know”. But above all, I wish for all the selections to go smoothy, and without a scandal. Whoever wins, let it be fair and square. And please fans, you can say how much you dislike the winning entry, but… Read more »
