Eurovision 2022 Acts so Far 20 February

It’s been an eventful few days in the world of Eurovision. On Wednesday we lost an entry — Alina Pash with “Shadows Of Forgotten Ancestors”. And while things might be in flux in Ukraine, six more countries have made the final call on their acts for Turin — Croatia, Malta, Norway, Poland, San Marino and Slovenia.

But how do these new picks compare with the previous 12? And which of the 18 is your favourite so far? It’s time to vote. Italy’s Mahmood and Blanco took gold in our two most recent surveys, but can they hold on for a third week? You decide!

You can listen to the six new additions below. Then vote in our poll. Choose wisely, you can only vote ONE time. Voting is open until Friday 25 February. We will then relaunch the poll after the weekend to include all the newly selected entries.

Eurovision 2022 entries as of 20 February

New entries

Croatia: Mia Dimšić “Guilty Pleasure”

Malta: Emma Muscat “Out of Sight”

Norway: Subwoolfer “Give That Wolf a Banana”

Poland: Ochman “River”

San Marino: Achille Lauro “Stripper”

Slovenia: LPS “Disko”

Other entries

  • Albania: Ronela Hajati “Sekret”
  • Bulgaria: Intelligent Music Project “Intention”
  • Czech Republic: We Are Domi “Lights Off”
  • Estonia: Stefan “Hope”
  • Ireland: Brooke “That’s Rich”
  • Israel: Michael Ben David “I.M”
  • Italy: Mahmood and Blanco “Brividi”
  • Latvia: Citi Zēni “Eat Your Salad”
  • Lithuania: Monika Liu “Sentimentai”
  • Moldova: Zdob și Zdub and Frații Advahov “Trenulețul”
  • North Macedonia: Andrea “Circles”
  • Spain: Chanel with “SloMo”

Who is your favourite Eurovision 2022 act so far? (20 February)

Which entry is your favourite? Can any of them win the contest in May? Let us know in the comments.

My Favourites: 1. Albania 2. Latvia 3. Spain 4. Norway 5. Ukraine 6. Lithuania I don’t why or how, but Albania’s entry has grown on me so damn much. It didn’t really like it at first but now it’s MY jam. It stays in first for me. I also really like the goofy nature of Latvia and Norway’s entries. Not sure why everyone’s so against joke entries, when these ones are so well put together. They’re fun, they make me laugh, and make me bop out. Spain’s got a catchy song and great choreo to add to it. What’s more… Read more »

Maybe it is slightly overhyped, but when was the last time Poland actually had a really good song for Eurovision? Compared to what they had sent in the past, It’s miles ahead quality wise.

1) Italy, 2) TBD and 3) TBD. Let’s face it: what we have so far is not great. I can’t wait to see what the rest of Europe has to offer! The three I like the least are Spain, Lithuania and Slovenia.

Still Italy for me, and I can’t say anything else comes close. Won’t mind them winning two years in a row. I’m surprised Poland is in 2nd place in the poll, it’s a great choice!

There are so many very weak songs this year and I struggle to think what can qualify and what won’t.

I know this is what everybody says every year, but I quite feel the choices made to date doesn’t fit my expectation. I mean, I look at the SF and 75% of them would be NO QF in any standard year. The 1st SF is specially bad. I hope it gets better…

Yeah, pretty high quality song but nothing special. Most ordinary Eurovision-viewers will hear the song for the first time at Grand final and will not remember Mahmood. This is anot an instantly catchy song, although both singers do their job perfectly and they radiate with charisma.

Spain – I’m in love with Chanel, don’t think anyone can top her in my heart, I’m gonna support her equally as representative of my own country Norway – Really fun and different, I watched MGP every week and got attached to all the artists, + I’m attached to Norway as a country Albania – Powerful, different from typical Albanian entries, think that revamp will be good too Czech Republic – A little bit generic, but it’s a great song, no winning potential Italy – Emotional and nice, but I’m not impressed, overrated a bit North Macedonia – This is… Read more »

Italy has been one of my favourites so far, but I think Poland now has my top spot. It’s interesting how close they are in the poll results – both very strong entries! I don’t like Norway’s act, it’s just not to my taste but I think it will do really well – it could be TikTok friendly. My favoutires so far:

  1. Poland
  2. Italy
  3. Spain
  4. San Marino
  5. Ireland (I’m from Ireland for full transparency haha)
  6. Czech Republic
  7. Lithuania (could do with a slight re-vamp)

I think Estonia will be fine, but I am more worried about Lithuania. I fear it will be placed in the second running order slot because it’s the only slow paced song so far in the first half of semi final 1. That really kills many songs’ chances to qualify. I do like it very much but I am worried it’s in a vulnerable position this year. It could be a dark horse that we didn’t see coming but we’ll see. I’d rather expect it to not qualify and be surprised and happy that it actually qualifies than want it… Read more »

Seriously? Lithuania second in running order? The song is too different to be killed off so early in the contest. I can’t with these comments from you D: Right now I’m seeing Lithuania as a easy qualifier because it will stand out on its own and for eurofans, who, most of them, have perception of only poppish uptempo sounding songs as ‘good’ ones, to undestand it is very hard, because their ears got too used to fast food music songs that hide behind so called ‘deep’ meanings or good vocals, when in general they are pile of…

Well, Elsie Bay is from the west where people also love their «own» artists.
And what about Kristin Husøy’s 2.place in 2020? That was only thanks to Mid-Norway voting for their «own». Staysman winning the televote from the populous East in 2015, finishing third overall? There are alot of examples so just don’t blame the North!:)
