Finland’s Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) 2022 is spoken about as one of this year’s best national finals. Seven quality songs will take part in Saturday’s final for the Finnish ticket to Turin, where the acts will hope to secure Finland’s second Eurovision victory.

Ahead of the show, we asked you to vote for your favourite entry after hearing all the studio cuts.

After a whopping grand total of a 8,242 votes, we have counted and verified them – and we have an overwhelming winner!

Scroll down for full poll results.

The Rasmus are a favourite to win Finland’s UMK 2022

The Rasmus have flown into first place of this UMK 2022 poll. Their entry “Jezebel” secured 3,066 votes – over a third of the total vote (37.20%). It is a resounding victory for one of Finland’s most internationally successful groups, having sold five million albums worldwide since forming in 1994. They are back in the spotlight again, only this time, to potentially represent their country on the biggest stage of them all.

Some way back in second place, with 1,409 votes (or 17.10% of all votes cast), and winning the silver medal is BESS. Her entry “Ram Pam Pam” has already racked up over three million streams on Spotify. To put that into perspective, “Ram Pam Pam” has twice as many streams as “Jezebel”, which has picked up just under 1.5 million streams.

Third place, and the final position on the Finnish podium, goes to Isaac Sene with his entry “Kuuma jäbä” (“Hot dude”). Isaac managed to secure 1,165 votes (14.12% of the total vote). Could he be the surprise UMK 2022 winner on Saturday night, or do The Rasmus hold too much of a lead?

Poll results: Who should win Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2022?

My favorites are Bess, Younghearted and Isaac, and it’d feel very off-putting if The Rasmus won, but I wouldn’t be mad if they end up winning bc it’s not such a crazy idea.
Btw my gut says that Bess – at least, won’t be tonight’s winner 🙁

Isaac Sene would be my ideal choice for Finland but they seemingly can’t look past The Rasmus right now… Plenty of Finns apparently made uncomfortable by Isaac’s lyrics, a bit of a narrow-minded stance to it all, it is what it is… Also, Cyan Kicks’ entry is rock music made for pop listeners and would be an extremely underwhelming choice, much rather have Rasmus in that case.

I don’t think Isaac will win – unfortunately, but I don’t think The Rasmus will win either. Jezebel didn’t generate as much of a buzz as Bess or Younghearted up there.

i’m rooting for bess! i think she could do the best at eurovision of this bunch. it reminds me a lot of cicciolina but more mainstream and accessible. plus she’s been number 1 in finland for a long time so i hope finland is on her side

There are 2 obvious contenders in this final that could do well in Turin, and its Cyan Kicks and Olivera… The rest have no chance in Turin. Even The Rasmus is an anemic rock tune with no real rock feel to it….

I’d love Younghearted or Isaac Sene to grab the win but, in the end, it may be… BESS.

#1 on Spotify for like one month, probably a killer show: she has to nail the vocals but if she does, she definitely can take the crown.
Besides her, Younghearted is still #11 in weekly Spotify charts and… there’s no other UMK contestant in the top 50 – not even the Rasmus. Excepted if Lauri Ylönen’s vocals got better than like two days ago, it doesn’t look that good for the current bookmakers favorite!

Judging by the rehearsal snippets I think Cyan Kicks came across the most polished and impressive, Younghearted looked beautiful too and I’m uncertain about Bess and she must feel a lot of pressure as her song’s been number 1 in Finland for a whole month. While I have nothing against The Rasmus given I was a huge fan of them in my angsty mid-teen years and even owned 2 albums… their song just feels too innocuous and Finland selecting them would feel like the safest choice. Can’t see them finishing higher than 17th in ESC. They’re more suited for that… Read more »

My TOP 3 would be Cyan Kicks, Younghearted and The Rasmus, in no particular order. Bess would be there instead of Younghearted, but the snippet of the live performance is underwhelming and that costume is fail. :/

Nope! The song lacks a little bit of coherence but I really like it. (In a perfect world, BESS, Isaac and Younghearted would snatch UMK’s podium)
