So long Andra Chansen, long live the Melodifestivalen semi-finals! Sweden’s second chance round may have gotten a makeover for 2022, but the overall outcome will remain the same. The eight third and fourth placed acts from the first four heats will get another opportunity to qualify for the final, with four of them making the cut.

Semi-final — 5 March 2022
Time: 20:00 CET to 21:30 CET
The Mello 2022 semi-final will be streamed live on SVT Play. It will be available to watch worldwide. It will also remain online for catch-up viewing.

The show will see eight acts perform across two semi-finals. Each semi will consist of four acts, two of which will go on to the final. The results will be determined solely by the viewing public through a mixture of app and phone votes.
Semi-final one
- Tone Sekelius – “My Way”
- Alvaro Estrella – “Suave”
- Danne Stråhed – “Hallabaloo”
- Anna Bergendahl – “Higher Power”
Semi-final two
- Theoz – “Som du vill”
- Lisa Miskovsky – “Best to Come”
- Lillasyster – “Till Our Days Are Over”
- Cazzi Opeia – “I Can’t Get Enough”
In addition to the competition, four more acts will be induced into the Melodifestivalen Hall of Fame. They are:
- Peter Himmelstrand
- Eva Dahlgren
- Arja Saijonmaa
- Loa Falkman
Arja Saijonmaa, Lionman and Mariette will perform as part of the celebration.
