For Sweden, the road to Eurovision 2024 in Malmö begins in Malmö.

Sweden’s state broadcaster SVT has confirmed the dates and cities for Melodifestivalen 2024. It all kicks off in Malmö on the 3rd of February. There will be a new show every Saturday in Gothenburg, Växjö, Eskilstuna, Karlstad and Stockholm.

“We are really looking forward to going out into the country again to offer new music, live experiences and sparkling artistry,” says Anders Wistbacka, project manager for Melodifestivalen. “It’s always just as fun to meet the audience on site.”

“We are very happy for this year’s host cities, but at the same time regret that the tour will be geographically limited. Unfortunately, the Melodifestivalen tour cannot travel to the north of Sweden in 2024 due to other events already booked in the arenas, but we hope to visit the north of Sweden in 2025.”

I hope SVT one year to skip Gothenburg and Malmo, just for the fun of it. 🙂

Off topic: there is a deadline by which broadcasters can withdraw and not pay a fine of sorts to ebu. Apparently this year the deadline is 11 October!!

Sure! It will be so great to see these fresh faces from Sweden never seen before, LOL, these eurofans and their weird obsessions… instead of wishing new and fresh acts… no they prefer to see the same faces again and again… so exciting…

It’s possible to have both. 28 acts and all.

Sad. I’ll accept Martin on his own again. Eleven years since his last attempt.

Sadly for you he too has stepped out from the limelight. No one knows what he does. But he fell out of love with music when his then 4 year old daughter got a brain tumour.

I thought he was still involved with organizing school choirs and supporting working musicians… or something like that? He still loves music, just not the showbusiness side of it. Last I heard. Still, never say never. Melodifestivalen is calling. I think his daughter is doing well now too, it’s been seven or eight years since her diagnosis. I could be wrong.

Yes she survived. Teenager now.
But Martin himself is nowhere. Last Instagram post is from March 2021. I think he simply took a break to do other things. And pick feuds with former bandmates:)

Hoping to see Dotter or LIAMOO enter and win next year
Dotter is very unlikely to return anytime soon but LIAMOO could be a realistic choice for the artist lineup

So sad Västerås couldn’t be a tour city this year after not having been one since 2008. Would be really fitting now that Loreen(from Västerås) won eurovision again.
Unfortunately the bandy and economy doesn’t allow for it.

Rent Free in Your Brain I am . Return Acts are for Snobby Sweden , Micha? Had His Time to the ESC He Has No More to Prove .
Best Choise is Send a Beautiful Girl with Bop such as Roxie, Daria Zawia?ow, or Daria Marcinkowska but We Dont Want Michal again . Its Just weird. If Poland Ever Sends Returning Act , it Must be Edyta or Blanka There is not even Question About it

Nein!! Michal is the only Polish legend in Eurovision and his 2016 public vote result *iconic*. It’s önly fitting he goes zurück to SWEurovision.

He beat another Polish legend, Edyta, in the 2016 Polish final. She wreaked her revenge this year by rigging the result. Sad.

As If Edyta Rigged Anything , If Anything The Bots Who Vote Jann is Rigging The Vote . Blanka is Winner and Jann Being a Crybaby Second Place is How He Will Always Be Remember . A Part From His Dispicible Fans and Earsbleeding Song

amen to that sistah, you almost forgot dancing around like an amateur idiot, Jann has a lot to improve from if he ever wants to try out again

meanwhile Blanka got that criticism, took it and improved from it and defied all the odds making sure her country qualified to the final, doing everything and more in her performance she could’ve

as well as Solo being a wholesome timeless dance banger, sis is now a eurovision icon in her own right

Honestly, the only act I am looking forward to from Poland is Viki Gabor. She is 16 now and she can officially compete is ESC.
