National final season has come to an end and we now have 22 winners who will move on to compete at Eurovision 2024. However, many of the other entries that didn’t make it will remain on our playlists for some time. To celebrate these acts, it’s time for our countdown of Team Wiwi’s Top 50 national final songs of Eurovision 2024.

The team here at wiwibloggs have voted for their favourite songs that competed in the national finals for Eurovision 2024 but were not selected. We’ll reveal ten tracks each day until we reach the winner.

Note this is not an objective list, but is determined by the personal votes of a panel of wiwibloggers. We encourage you to share your own personal favourites in the comments below.

It’s time to find out which song will enter our Hall of Fame. Let the countdown commence!

Doesn’t the beginning of “Diamanti Grezzi” sound like Filip Balos’ “Duga je noc”?

I love seeing the two very not-for-Eurovision songs back to back here. I was very intrigued by Maria at first, but I kind of put it aside as the season went on. But she still probably should have made my honorable mentions– she was a great performer at FdC and the final would have been better with her in it. “Glasss” was something I didn’t enjoy at all, but I appreciated having it at Vidbir.

Thanks, Zanoni! When I was doing my 35th-50th place selection, one of the criteria was also creativity, and these two just had to be featured. 🙂

It’s sometimes amazing to see how similar our tastes have become over the years, but, as you already know, nine of these songs are going to feature in my top fifty at some point, and I actually like Dia, too!

Yeah, this year, we’ll have a lot of the same songs somewhere on our lists, and I feel like even those that will be featured on mine, and not on yours, or vice-versa, are the ones the other one is still fairly okay with, only not to a similar degree. Overall, very similar, yeah.

my favourite (along with “Go Tobann”), Janus Wiberg’s weirdly-overlooked “I Need Your Love,” which surprised many observers by finishing 3rd in the Danish NF (2nd in the televote). Not much to write home about in the studio version, to be honest, but the live version’s a very different beast: Wiberg is a phenomenal performer who invests his heart and soul into every line. I hope he’ll be back for Denmark in a future NF/ESC.

I am very Happy to not be the average Euroviewer and be able to appreciate folk music. I think María Peláe Remitente IS such a beautiful song, so powerful and emotional. I really pity those Who only hear a woman yelling and prefer more “conventional” mainstream (boring) songs with a basic “message” delivered in a childish way.

I’m expecting it. Personally, I’m hoping for “Sinceramente,” which checks a lot of boxes and would set a good precedent getting out of the north. I would roll my eyes at “Damdiggida,” even though I do like it.

I have decided to exclude the following from my top 50 list on the basis that their song was not officially selected as part of a national final process, or they would have ultimately entered another song. However, there are some absolute classics in here and I feel that they need to feel the love of being part of the Eurovision family 1. Omini – Mare Forza 9oi (Italy) 2. Alexxandra – Vibe (Poland) 3. Famasongs – Techno Anyma 080823 (San Marino) 4. Levie – Lodowate dlonie (Poland) 5. Donna Vegas (with Liza Bonzan) – STAR! (Poland) 6. Flat Bit… Read more »

Liking the start of your lineup, Kosey!
Songs that you’ve included that will be in my own top fifty are your no.’s 46 and 49. But, there’s even more here that I think were excellent and were close to making my cut. Jigsaw and Zoo from Lithuania were both great and unlucky to be in such a strong selection this year. Pazza and Mer are also strong, too.

I don’t care for Wunderbar or Apnea at all, but otherwise, a nice start. Looking forward to the rest!

This has been a very enjoyable NF season! My final playlist for whittling this list down to 50 had almost 100 songs on it (and , and I kind of love them all too, so I’m going to go the maximalist route and list them all 🙂 Albania: “Nan,” “Mars” Czechia: “Starlet,” “Out of My Mind,” “Good Enough” Croatia: “Babaroga,” “Do mjeseca” Denmark: “Planetary Hearts,” “Real Love” Estonia: “Bad Boy,” “FOMO,” “No Dog on a Leash,” “Oblivion” Germany: “Love on a Budget,” “Undream You” Iceland: “FLOW.” Italy: “Tuto gold,” “Governo punk,” “Fino a qui,” “Vai!,” “Tu no,” “Casa mia” Lithuania:… Read more »

Great respect for your list, some significant diligence has gone into that. My list went as far as 61 which all deserved a place on the Top 50 and many more on top of that which I have enjoyed. 43 and 44 on your list were just outside my top 50 and 42 and 47 you will have to wait a few days for if you know what I mean! Sigga’s track is not a complicated piece of art but boy is it so uplifting – it is such a positive piece of work. And on My AI, I am… Read more »

Here is my greatest/most annoying “what if?” of the year. When the Icelandic songs were released, I went to a certain website that archives national final songs, and this track was on there. CeaseTone’s “Flow.” It absolutely melted my brain. I loved it.

Uh… it wasn’t the Songvakeppnin song, which is also titled “FLOW.” This one was 4 minutes long, and from CeaseTone’s 2021 album. I like CeaseTone’s NF entry; it’s up there in my honorable mentions. But this is one of my favorite songs I’ve heard this year.
