German Nenov, the creative producer of Ukraine’s Eurovision 2025 national selection, has shared the first details about the upcoming Vidbir final. He promises a show closely resembling the format of the actual Eurovision Song Contest.

The news came during a press conference on Thursday, where our colleague Vova was meeting with representatives from Suspilne Ukraine — including Head of Delegation Oksana Skybinska — and the finalists of Vidbir 2025. The event included a draw to determine the running order.

Ukraine: Vidbir 2025 creative producer teases “full-fledged Eurovision”

German Nenov said the show will resemble “a full-fledged Eurovision, not just a National selection”.

“This selection is not just a music contest but a moment of unity for the country. We aim to showcase the uniqueness of Ukrainian music and prove that our creative industry deserves global recognition.”

Suspilne sent further details in a this press release:

“Viewers will witness one of the most stunning stages in the history of Ukrainian National Selections. As in the actual Eurovision, a green room will be placed in the center of the audience, where the 10 finalists will wait for results alongside their teams.”

“In addition, the visual style of the participants’ postcards will be updated so audience connect more personally with the contestants: ‘We are meticulously crafting these postcards, which will serve as promotional campaigns — portraits of our talented participants. Through the show, we want to introduce you to these artists so that you not only watch their performances and vote during the selection but also support their work on streaming platforms,’ Nenov explained.”

“The show will also feature five interval acts. Regarding the hosts, there will be three, all of whom are familiar to viewers from previous editions of the selection, though their names have not yet been disclosed.”

“The opening performance will include nine Ukrainian Eurovision stars performing a symbolic song for Ukrainians in an unusual sound arrangement.”

“The winner of the National Selection and Ukraine’s representative for Eurovision-2025 will be determined based on the jury and audience votes during the final concert on February 8.”

“The 10 participants competing for victory in the National Selection are Vlad Sheryf, Abiye, MOLODI, Future Culture, Masha Kondratenko, KHAYAT, FIINKA, KRYLATA, Ziferblat, and DK Energetik. Contest tracks can be listened to via the link.”

All those who are crying in the comments about how Ukraine should spend its money should do a little research, and then you would find out (wow!) that Ukraine receives money not only for military needs, but also for cultural development. And as part of our responsibility, we have to show our sponsors that we really spend this money on cultural development
(and how dare you say such things? have you ever tried to put yourself in our shoes? hell, this event has become the only great entertainment left in our country)

Well, in that case I want my money back! Money that my government is taking out of my pocket and giving you w/o asking me if I agree or not. If my money is spent on this (and no, selection for esc is NOT a cultural event, it’s low profile entertainment) I want it back.

Oh u definitely do not understand how such things work. Your country also receives grants for every sphere of activities btw.

And Vidbir IN UKRAINE is really a cultural event, and the most spoken and popular show, that opens new talents and new musicians.

EU earned more money on war and on trading with katsaps than spent on help to Ukraine.

And who’s paying for this unnecessary spectacle? Quite strange to spend money on some extravagant show while begging for coins all over the globe…

When you open your refrigerator and there absolutely nothing there and you have kids to feed I’m not sure that some blownout expensive extravagant show can replace that despair and hunger. Take of your pink glasses, Ukraine is in the middle of war, it’s failed and corrupted country, the poorest in the Europe (even before the war) and their leaders try to get any possible money they can from wherever… Don’t you think it’s irresponsible to spend cash on the most expensive show in Europe and don’t act like there’s some priorities?!

Hard disagree. Events like this are important for showing Putin that he has not won. Ukraine is carrying on, unflattened. Society is NOT dead.

That is the most popular cultural event in Ukraine, that shows that we are still alive, of course we have sponsors, that give us money for cultural development too, your country receives also grant for every sphere of activities. Not to mention that compared to the price of weapons and war, Vidbir costs almost nothing. SO YES WE HAVE THE RIGHT to have some enjoyment in our lifes!

Try to live three years without any entertainment – no sports, no big concerts, no holidays at all, the only entertainment is surviving daily bombings and endless trips to the shelter. And only after that I will be interested in your opinion.
