The grand final of Eurovision 2025 is almost upon us. By the end of the night, one of this year’s acts will finally be crowned the winner and walk away with the prestigious microphone trophy.

The Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of musical unprofessionals — first rated the 37 competing songs way back in late March, with predominantly only studio cuts available. Finland’s Erika Vikman came out on top of the jury ranking. Albania’s Shkodra Elektronike and Sweden’s KAJ closely followed in second and third respectively.

However, all of this was done before seeing any of the live performances at the semi-finals. Like many, our thoughts changed after witnessing what the acts brought to the stage in Basel. So we thought it was only right to reveal the Wiwi Jury’s updated favourites ahead of the Eurovision 2025 grand final.

Once again our jury is truly international. The 10 members hail from Australia, Cyprus, Romania, Norway, USA, and the UK.

Do we still think the same as before the live semi-finals? Or do we have a new winner? Read on to find out!

Wiwi Jury 2025 – Updated Individual Top 10

12 points: Austria

My most improved is Switzerland, who has simply put together one of the most breath-taking performances in Eurovision history. And between her and my top 3, I can’t split them. But I’m sticking with Austria to win it all. The performance was an emotional whirlwind, the vocals are flawless and both the melody and message are gripping. I like the monochrome vibe but I would’ve liked some colour once the song moved into its dance floor phase. That aside, overall, it’s hard to fault such a spectacular package.

12 points: Albania

Albania took me by surprise. I liked their song from the start, but the way they brought it to life on stage makes me think they could actually win. It’s one of those songs where, even if you don’t understand the lyrics, you can still feel the emotion. The interaction between them is fantastic, and their staging manages to be effective without drawing attention away from them or the song. It’s one of those moments that instantly gives me winner vibes.

Semi-final 2 was all about how this was Erika Vikman’s world and how we were all living in it. She learned how precisely to balance her showmanship and bombastic sexual quality in such a way that made the whole package perfect. Never excessive, always hitting the right spot, and doing this outré song just how it had to be. It’s up there in the most charismatic and arresting performances of the decade.

Goosebumps! The voice, the staging, THE TALENT. Definitely winning vibes from Austria. JJ took us on a three-minute journey to his soul.

“Asteromata” is the type of entry that comes alive on the big stage, even if you’ve played the studio recording a million times on repeat. Klavdia is a force to be reckoned with as she delivered one of the strongest vocal performances across both semi-finals. From start to finish, she conveys pure longing and strength. I did not draw a full breath until her performance was fully over. The staging, especially the background graphics and the sparing use of the single backup dancer, are sublime. They elevate the poignant story of the song, without taking the focus away from Klavdia.

10 points: Albania 4 points: Austria
8 points: Lithuania 3 points: Germany
7 points: Switzerland 2 points: Luxembourg
6 points: Latvia 1 point: San Marino
5 points: Israel

Jacob

12 points: Israel

In a year with a lot of fun entries and underwhelming songs, Israel sends this classic, incredibly beautiful ballad. The only song of the year that brings tears to my eyes, even without her backstory. It works very well in English, Hebrew and French. Her performance in the semi was fantastic, considering what happened a few hours earlier, and it’s great to see an entry that focuses on the song instead of gimmicks or costume changes.

This has come leaps and bounds since Supernova, and it is one of the most beautiful performances this year. They were always this good though, fans just needed to listen! I’m so proud of them, and I hope they get a result they deserve. It’ll be hard with Netherlands and Finland following but I believe in them.

Tom

My favourite entry of Eurovision 2025 is Erika Vikman and her sex positive pop banger “ICH KOMME”. This song is big, it’s in your face and it is unforgettable. It feels like you have entered a sex cult, you have had the Kool-aide and you want to run through a brick wall at the end. The beat is irresistible, Erika is very talented and has an incredible voice. It feels like it’s her world and we are living in it. This is brilliant pop music and I can guarantee you we will be blown away one way or another.

10 points: Sweden 4 points: Albania
8 points: France 3 points: Switzerland
7 points: Latvia 2 points: Luxembourg
6 points: Spain 1 point: Germany
5 points: Italy

Jonathan

12 points: Albania

One of my biggest questions this season was whether Shkodra Elektonike could translate the feeling of their Festivali i Këngës performance to the bigger Basel arena. I’m delighted that they have not only done that, but also upped things by 100. This is captivating from start to finish. Beatriçe delivers a perfect vocal performance whilst commanding the stage. The duality of Kolë’s appearance is portrayed brilliantly through the graphics and lighting to help casual viewers understand the pair’s dynamic. And the song itself remains a hypnotic three-minute journey. Regardless of result, to me this is absolutely Albania’s best ever Eurovision entry.

10 points: Finland 4 points: Lithuania
8 points: Denmark 3 points: Greece

And there you have it. Our updated Wiwi Jury ranking for Eurovision 2025 sees Albania rising to the top (after winning a tie break with Finland).

In only a few short hours, we’ll finally see who will be declared the winner of Eurovision 2025. Will our new favourite Albania take the crown? Or could tied pick of Finland secure the victory? All will be revealed when the 26 acts take to the Basel stage.

Do you agree with our Wiwi Jury Update? Who are your favourites of the 26 acts in the Eurovision 2025 grand final? Whose individual top ten is most similar to your own? Let us know all your thoughts in the comments below!

I’m not prudish – but knowing that a lot of pre-teen children watch Eurovision (I’ve got six young entusiasts amongst my “friends/children”) – do Malta’s and Finland’s entries pass the test (despite trying to be bold and daring) – particularly in this day and age? I’d say no – hence won’t vote for either!

A term needed in the ESC context as there are also women who just feel as such (at least from time to time), despite having a prostate, not to name other anatomical parts. And such are to be called – I guess – a „male women“.

Do you know why the orchestra was abolished? It was to save money when the ESC was a single-day event. Do you know how much that would cost now with rehearsals lasting over two weeks?!?

Albania, still one of the poorest countries in Europe, to re-introduce the orchestra while Italy with its Sanremo background didn’t back in 2022. Please do not make things up!

I have a little fear tonight, as we all can see the winner is not clear. Then, the televote will be widely spread between 4-6 countries. Consider also what Israel did last year. Well, my fear is that Israel ends first in the televote tonight, or even win. They will repeat their 2024 edition’s behaviour tonight, be sure of it. I hope the night doesn’t get ruined by it, but that also implies a little help of the jury vote. I hope we all reunite here after the show to discuss no other than the performances and songs. I hope… Read more »

Juries will of course not judge Israel on merit as we saw the last year. Televote will somewhat compensate for it but not enough and I’m afraid it will be lower than last year (fewer bullies in ESC = less incentive for sympathy votes + the song isn’t as good as Hurricane).

In Just a few hours, we will have a new winner and Eurovision 2025 will come to close. Lol that’s sweet but you’re obviously heavily biased because the UK is defo not competitive this year. And we’re talking about what many consider a weak year! The girls are likable, they sing really well but it’s not impactful, it’s not modern, it doesn’t have a moment, the song is a bit of a mess and the staging is very underwhelming. Next year, send Rina Sawayama, make sure she nails her live vocals (not always her case sadly) and have her sing a bop like This Hell and you’ll get back to to the top of the scoreboard like Sam… Read more »

Not to worry, there’s still hope for you, I’m sure you’ll get better with the right treatment 😉 May I suggest meditation as well? Sex (there’s a first for everything), also? You seem way too stressed out and unhappy. Lots of love, pathetic cupcake <3

Albania should win this , the song truly is work of art, performance is on top and it’s mesmerising not to mention that the lyrics is so meaningful! Rooting for Albania

Since few weeks I’m stuck to my opinion that we will have a surprise winner this time -nor Sweden, nor Austria. Nor public vote winner, nor jury vote winner…
France, Poland, Netherlands -not with their 2025 songs, for sure.
That leaves the prize for Switzerland, Malta, Finland, Israel or Al’ban’ya…
Am I dreaming? ?

I think Austria would be the winner; whereas Sweden and Finland would flop because of jury voting.
I really don’t want Sweden to win because this country is always overrated and received favoritism in this contest

Off topic, I just watched the new Doctor Who episode “The Interstellar Song Contest”. I think it’s worth posting on here just reviewing that episode alone, probably some time next week after the real contest is all done. Evidently its story is highly controversial (there are lots to discuss), yet it’s also wonderful to imagine that the ESC could grow and become something so unimaginably huge in the far future.

In the UK it’s on BBC iPlayer.
Some other countries will have it on Disney+ . Beyond that, I suppose physical media will be released for it eventually.

Happy with any winner from your top 5, although I really hope Finland will win.

Hopefully, the country whose staging at some point can be misinterpreted as, excuse my french (pun intended) explosive diarrhoea won’t bribe their way into top 5.

Instead of giving my personal opinion, I’m going to give the opinion of two important people in my life, my two grandmothers. My Swedish grandmother Annette and my Belgian grandmother Louisa. This is their opinion: So my Swedish grandmother Annette think Sweden will win but she hopes that Finland takes the victory home. Het reason “At least something is happening on stage with Finland”. Further she likes France and Albania. And she really doesn’t like Luxembourg, Estonia and Malta. My Belgian grandmother Louisa thinks and hopes France will win. Because it’s the only song that touches her. She also likes… Read more »

All I hope is that there is a more exciting jury voting sequence with votes being randomly spread this year. The bore fest watching the votes roll in during esc 2023 and 2024 when the juries more or less voted the same way was less entertaining than slowTV.
With a handful of stronger entries, we should get a more exciting voting sequence this year.

I wish they would just put the jury votes up there in the beginning and then call in with the televotes and give the points from the viewers. I’m a lot more interested in knowing what people in different countries vote for than the taste of a handful of international music experts. It’s just boring.

Also, since we are going back to Stockholm, can we at least get a different script writer whose life doesn’t revolve around Grindr? He sucks, he’s done. It’s bad enough you keep forcing the devil himself, cb, on us every year. And why can’t it ever be Gothenburg for heaven’s sakes? Build that stupid roof.
On the plus side, I love that it’s another winner in national language and a true underdog. Weren’t KAJ last place in the odds before they won the NF? That is incredibly cool, no matter how much I want someone else to win tonight.

I’m hoping the stars will align for Finland. And I know it ain’t gonna happen but Luxembourg would be next choice, it grew on me even more, this will be one of the very few performances I’ll continue watching after the contest. On that note, where is Cyprus? Then, I would also be happy with a Swiss win, hoping that could mark a return of music to the contest. And finally, I’d also be thrilled if the Austrian papers ship wins of course. In any case, can we at least have a modicum of suspense in the voting? Is that… Read more »

I think Albania or Greece will do very well with the jury and do well enough in the public vote which make me think one of them could take the Eurovision winner crown. Public vote I think Sweden, Finland and Estonian plus Poland will do very well but they will do take points away from each other. Although I love for Switzerland to win but realistically I don’t think it will get many public votes to take the crown.

Striking a more realistical tone, I kind of think Sweden’s victory is already sealed. They will very likely top the public voting as the song is well liked among various audiences, sounds different from recent Swedish entries, is innocent, funny, and has catchy tunes. Sweden will score well with juries as well, and likely get many 8/10/12 points from many above the 50° parallel, and also south of that. Plus, Sweden is perceived as a safe choice by juries, competent and experienced on stage and in organizing, and is also highly promoted in ESC. Finland will likely be second in… Read more »

It’s going to be Sweden and we all know it. It’s not because they deserve it by having the best song but because SVT, M. Ö. and first of all C. B. want it. The platinum jubilee ESC to not take place in Sweden. Don‘t be ridiculous. Everything else is just wishful thinking. The voting as the most exciting part of the ESC this year will be the most boring part. Make your piece with it. Have fun watching, if you are going to do so.

I think we are just a little tired of it because we heard it 500 times already and it’s not really a song that grows on you. Most people watching tonight will hear it for the very first time and will like it, it’s catchy, kid friendly and fun. They will like it because of that not because of SVT or M.Ö or whatever.
