Back in June, Estonia’s Eurovision 2016 star Jüri Pootsmann introduced his latest single “Nii Või Naa” (For Better Or For Worse) to the public. Now, he has a brand new video to go along with it.

Jüri’s debut album is due in October, and “Nii Või Naa” is merely a glimpse of what this Estonian wunderkind has to offer when it comes to music. His sound is fresh and clearly shows that he is a force to be reckoned with.
The video portrays a group of lonely skater girls who float through an empty Tallin. They end up in a nightclub. There they find Jüri alone on the dancefloor, wearing a black coat. The song and the video tell a story of the loneliness that ultimately follows a break up, a kind of hopelessness. One feels alone in the world, like no one is around to pick up the pieces. Hence the empty city. But in the end, the girls are together. They watch the sun rise after a long night and with it comes the hope for better, brighter days and the certainty that friendship is above everything.
The electronic beat of “Nii Voi Naa” is a big leap from the retro sound we heard on “Play”. But Jüri’s soulful voice is still there, sending that tingling feeling down the spine. It’s what earned him a spot on my top five list of the hottest guys at Eurovision 2016.

There he slays as blonde posh 😀
Would love to hear about meaning of song.
Jüri himself said about his song that everybody stuck in sometimes somewhere and then they must try move on. What about people who he follows in instrgam, most of them are friends from childhood and from school.
I absolutely love this song, it has such a nice feeling to it. I don’t think that “For better or worse” is good translation for “Nii või Naa” though. “One way or another” would be the best option, because in the context of this song it basically means “no matter what comes/happens”
The trick I can’t get is how Alyona Lanksaya got more attention so far than Juri here on wiwi 🙂 Nice mention of continued Eesti Laul’s feeling over this though <3 Yeah damn right, wiwi!
Love him! I also love how if you look through who he follows on instagram, it’s a lot of very attractive gay men ranging from an olympic athlete to male models, and just men in general. I knew he was too funny/witty/cool to be hetero! 🙂
