France Télévisions revealed her as their Eurovision 2017 act earlier this month, setting off a flurry of positive comments and a chorus of oh là làs.
And on Saturday evening rising star Alma gave Eurovision fans even more to cheer about as she performed her song “Requiem” live at Vidbir 2017.
Unfazed by the live audience and the tens of thousands of Eurovision fans watching the live stream online, she shook off any doubt about her ability to deliver live — serving a delicious mix of passion and understatement. When she rubbed her hands across her delicate chest we couldn’t help but scream, “Oui!”
Visually she reminded us exactly where she’s from, performing in front of an atmospheric LED that featured sweeping vistas of Paris, including The Eiffel Tower.
She channeled Paris again through her simple but chic look, which consisted of a thigh-skimming dress that she cinched at the waist with a gold belt, helping to define her already stunning silhouette.
Self-assured and brimming with confidence, she was literally on-point in a pair of black ankle booties that showed off her perfectly pedicured toes through their gaping peep-hole.

As we previously reported, Alma is currently working on the official Eurovision version of the song, which she will release in the weeks ahead.
wiwibloggs has confirmed with the French delegation that Alma will add juste un petit peu d’anglais.
The song will not be 50% English and 50% French, but it will include English lyrics in a part of the chorus — helping her convey her message to Europe while preserving her very distinct — and absolutely delicious — French flavour.
Thank you sooooo much Ukraine for having me on your #Vidbir2017 #eurovision ???????????????? pic.twitter.com/0GZS6mikIE

Ahead of the show Alma spent some quality time with Kasia Mos, who will represent Poland at Eurovision.
The pair enjoyed laughs in the green room and posed up a storm on the Vidbir 2017 set, working two very different looks.
While Alma kept it covered up top, Kasia opted to show off her stunning décolletage, which glistened beneath the Ukrainian stage lights.
What do you think of Alma’s performance? Are you feeling optimistic about her chances? And how do you want her to tweak the song ahead of Eurovision? Let us know in the comments box below.
There are different things to say about her performance. First, she continuously (stubbornly ?) adds an “e” at the end or “requiem” when it’s obvious there’s no “e” at the end of the word. Alright you have to rhyme “aimEs” with “requiemE” but a requiem is a requiem, there’s no E. NEVER. That sounds awful. Second, she rolls the “r” as if she were Romanian, Russian or Spanish. That would be just fine but she’s French. The R is NEVER rolled in French. NEVER. Or maybe in the 20’s but it’s 2017 now. Third, when she uses her chest voice… Read more »
So no article about Kasia in Ukraine, and no article about Azerbaijan song ”Always” that DiHaj will sing.
I like the song, but I don’t love it. I’m concerned about how well French Pop is received at Eurovision.
@Orineo
If you know about figures, why don’t you tell us how much is payed by big 5, as part of the budget of 17 millions euros that Ukraine will use to host…big 5 is not paying for the show, is paying EBU to buy privileges.
im sorry but she doesnt convince me. She has a good song but her perfomance is a big probem…
Interesting
I agree with you, sometime I have also feeling that they push so hard some singer and some countries at this bloggs and lobby in article and many videoso hard for them. Last year on first place was lobby for Ira and Malta. Simillar happened on eurovison.tv site when they are lobby for EBU baby Australia, Demi Inn on that site have3 video , video of her song and 2 other video, when every other countreis had only video from song.
*Kasia
Y’all complaining about Kadia being bafely menyuoned here should take another look at the title of this article. This is about Alma and Alma only. Kadia will have an article all about her soon enough no reason to whine.
Kasia also had the performance.. why you ignore it?
This is Alma’s first real live performance on the promotional circuit since her selection, so she has to start somewhere. There’s lots of room for improvement before she hits the big stage, and I’m certain the staging will elevate the song (whatever she is planning I hope it works). One thing is clear: she can sing live.
This is ridiculous and really not nice how wiwivloggs ignore Poland another year. Kasia was also performing during this show and she was much better than Alma. Wiwibloggs many of your readers are Poles… why you ignore us so much? Still you crying over Margaret?
Verrrrrry good. I love this performance! 🙂
To Abel, First Hi ! If you “hate” the big 5 because of that, it’s really sad because it’s a very negative emotion for a song contest that is actually supposed to give a good time to the people. Actually the people for these 5 countries should more complain because it’s taken every year for our taxes and in some countries it seems as a waste of money (in France it’s still very unpopular even with Amir’s sixth place last year). Also some other countries can also contribute financially. No one is against that. I guess an article for Kasia… Read more »
Btw, is it me or somebody else thinks that this song is like lyrics, lyrics & lyrics. I don’t “heard” her “resting” even for a second. LOL
And you expect her to dance? C’mooon guys!
@abel.
Oh mon dieu/ oh my god !!! ????. Keep calm it’s just ESC. Just a bit of respect.
From a French croissant ???? ????
She sexy. Me likes. 🙂
public is still waiting for article about Kasia’s performance
I’m so tired of this France is France…oh la la…charmant croissant !!!!!!!! This is why people hate big 5. Justice for Kasia !
Its not fear! U wrote about France performance and any words about Poland… Kasia was better. Her song is like James bond theme melody
What’s wrong with you, guys? Isn’t it easier to split both acts for proper tag and respectable articles for each country’s section?
She looks pretty, the voice is ok… but she doesn’t know how to move, let alone dance. I was picturing a ‘casual sensual’ dance like on her videoclip, but instead with her dancing. Now, I doubt she can pull this off and leave the micro stick. France really sucks at staging, they seem to forget it’s EuroVISION.
Wiwibloggs write more about Alma’s ”perfectly pedicured toes” than about Kasia that is Alma’s equal in this competition. So ugly article.
She seemed kinda awkward to me. I really dug the led backdrop behind her, though, and the way they had matching shadows dance across the stage. Quiet atmospheric, as you said!
First of all! Alma can deliever live! She’s a really good singer!
Second, don’t stick to the staging! This was the staging for this particular occasion! It doesn’t mean we’ll watch this in Eurovision!
Great performance though! Loved it!
This song needs better staging, but Alma can sing! Staging can be elevated 100 times before may, but I doubt her vocals could improve by much if she had those problems. Kasia Mos a better performance, but Alma did good too. All and all, I like it.
People starts to be jealous. It sounds good for France ????????
Btw the song will be revamp mid march to fit esc
I like the studio version a lot more. This live performance didn’t do anything to elevate the song. Also, the tempo seemed a little bit slower. This reminds me a lot of Italy 2016. The studio version was great but the live performance was a little shaky and flat. France better inject life into this performance or else it is going to wind up on the right side of the Final’s board.
Why did you write about only one of the two guest performances during Ukraine’s preselections?
what about Kasia’s amazing and stunning song???
Prediction for France with this singing at Eurovision stage , placement from 17 to 21 place in final
why did you focus on Alma’s performance?
it is not really fair
What s happenIng with Denmark and their weird DR. Last day we can saw on eurovision.tv offical EBU site, link to watch live DMGP 2017, also that mention on this bloggs also with link. Than at evening at 20.00 CET, we all can t see live DMGP ,only people in Denmark. After that DR on You tube post only winner song after final and at this momment no more songs from DMGP 2017 didn t post on their channel.
she seemed to improve a lot based on the performance! all i wish is somekind of choreography from her and some backing vocalists.
is possible the dancers dancing the same way like that in her mv performance with her at Kyiv IEC stage ? It will be great !!
That was a lovely live performance!
BUT
She needs to gain confidence on stage, i can still see her being nervous.
Why is Kasia Mos only mentioned here?
Now that the song is still going to be essentially French with just some English (less so than J’ai Cherche and I’d be happy) my only worry is the staging. It was better with the two dancers in her first performance. A bouncy chanson like Alma’s needs vibrant staging, otherwise the stage just looks empty.
I like it when she mixed it up and made it different during Vidbir. She’s experimenting and hopefully that would translate into the final version of her song.
