It’s now a highly-anticipated stop on the Eurovision promo tour and a right of passage for Spanish Eurovision fans. And now The Eurovision Spain Pre-Party Madrid is gearing up for its third edition after two very successful years! Our bodies are ready and so are our wallets — we’ve been saving the coins for months!

Never two without three! The Iberian city of Madrid will once again be among the key stops on the Eurovision promotional tour and will take place just two weeks before rehearsals kick off in Tel Aviv. This affords the 2019 acts one of their final chances to engage live with a massive and enthusiastic audience — perhaps the best practice for the main event.

Last year’s event gathered more than 80,000 viewers on RTVE’s online streaming platform — turning the event into the most-watched Eurovision event on the platform in Spain’s history — ahead of even the official Eurovision shows (which people have a tendency to watch on TV instead).

Eurovision Spain Pre Party

Our friends at Eurovision-Spain are once again holding an intimate Welcome Party and a larger concert the following day. The iconic yet beloved Sala La Riviera will host both parties — welcoming around 1,800 fans to celebrate Eurovision at its finest!

This year’s Spain’s pre-party is set for April 20, with its Welcome Party taking place on April 19. Madrid is ready, and so are we!

While it’s still a mystery who will follow in Soraya Arnela’s steps as host, what’s sure is that twelve acts have been announced so far.

  • Jonida Maliqi (Albania)
  • Eliot (Belgium)
  • Lake Malawi (Czech Republic)
  • S!sters (Germany)
  • Darude (Finland)
  • Katerine Duska (Greece)
  • Jurijus (Lithuania)
  • D-Moll (Montenegro)
  • Keiino (Norway)
  • Serhat (San Marino)
  • Michael Rice (United Kingdom)
  • Miki (Spain)

Under the motto ‘El ritmo que nos une‘, the party will reach back 50 years into the past — when Spain last held and won the contest. This year’s edition comes with a theme that will embrace nostalgia while travelling from Lisbon to Madrid to Tel Aviv, soaring over the Mediterranean. Miki will act as the singing ambassador of the event and will welcome all participating delegations. Stay tuned! With more than a month to go, more acts are sure to drop soon.

Warm up: Eurovision-Spain Welcome Party on Friday

Eurovision-Spain.com is taking it up a notch once again and taking their Welcome Party even higher.

Straight from Israel — IMRI — who lit up Kiev by opening Eurovision 2017, is going to serve as a host for this year’s event. Expect nothing but a massive load of energy.

An exciting line-up awaits Imri! Up to five more acts have been announced already and nostalgia is nothing but palpable. Spanish and international Eurovision faces are coming together to give fans the weekend of their lives. The announced line-up so far includes:

  • Ira Losco (ESC 2002 & 2016 – Malta)
  • Adelén (MGP 2013 runner-up – Norway)
  • Vânia Fernandes (ESC 2008 – Portugal)
  • Alfred García (ESC 2018 – Spain): mini-concert
  • Las Ketchup (ESC 2006 – Spain)

Alfred García — who together with his then-girlfriend Amaia represented Spain in Lisbon — will pass the baton to Miki. But that’s not all. Alfred is set to perform a mini-concert with songs from his album 1016. It will also include a collaboration with Miki. Alfred’s elegance is nothing but guaranteed!

As in the previous editions, the team at wiwibloggs will be on the ground to secure footage of all the performances, as well as interviews with the stars for both events. Stay tuned for more news!

Tickets

Tickets for both events are still available from 25€. Unfortunately, the PrePartyEs Fan Tickets have already sold out, but there are still party packages available to get. For more information about tickets, click on this link.

Michael will kill his vocals live and people will then start to agree with me and many people that the UK will finish in the top ten

Lol he was very good vocally in the national final too, why arent people saying this now? His vocals are good but 1) Song is waaaay to repetitive and generic. Way to simple. No edge, no fun, no coolness, no hook. Why would anyone vote for it over songs like Netherlands, Greece, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Cyprus, Portugal etc which have something special? 2) He’s a bit annoying. He has an angry/diva look on his face while singing and those hands movements… gurl they are so Xtina Aguilera and so 2000’s. So no, hes not reaching top 10 but he could… Read more »

UK will only finish top ten if they picked Kerrie-Anne! But right, UK deserves to be in the right side of the scoreboard with zero points!

What I love about these events is that they show which countries care about winning and which not. I mean, if you can afford being here (money and time) and you decide you don’t want to, then the message is clear.

Tbh I think these shows are wasting of time, it doesn’t affect who will win.

I don’t say you have to be there to win. I say that if it’s important for you to win, you’ll be there (unless money or time or distance).

@Euoiio Do you think that Portugal really expected Salvador’s song to win? Like really.
