Which Eurovision 2021 artist has your favourite single cover artwork?

We’re all gearing up for the return of Eurovision in May. And as we get closer to the contest, we’ve got the songs from the class of 2021 on repeat. The Rotterdam playlist features 39 songs in total — each with unique single cover artwork. So now, we want to know: which song has your favourite single cover?

Eurovision 2021: Cover art

There’s plenty of variety in terms of cover art this year. Vibrant or subdued, conceptual or literal — the artists aren’t holding back in terms of artistic vision.

Some artists have gone down the classic route. Ana Soklič’s “Amen” cover art, for example, features the Slovenian singer stood statuesque with a wind machine blowing her hair. Meanwhile, Destiny’s “Je Me Casse” artwork is inspired by the fashion of 1920s ballroom.

Elsewhere, artists have gone more colourful and cartoonish. TIX’s “Fallen Angel” art shows Norway’s singer descending from the heavens into a fiery hellscape. Senhit’s “Adrenalina” artwork shows a cartoonish caricature of San Marino’s Freaky Queen.

And of course, there’s Natalia Gordienko’s sugar-encrusted lips on the “Sugar” artwork. There’s truly something for everyone this year.

You’ve heard their songs. You’ve seen the artwork. Now, it’s time to pick a favourite. Vote in our poll now!

Scroll down to vote in our poll.

Soon you’re gonna be like “Which is your favourite contestant with blue eyes? Which song from the Western Hemisphere is your favourite? Which song from the former Byzantine Empire is your favourite?” I appreciate the audience interaction but you’ve gone a bit overboard with these polls.

Really? A pointless post this one. Who ever notices cover art in these days of downloads and digital streaming? Even old school people like me will by the Eurovision compilation album featuring the official logo. I must say that is what I really miss about music. Going to record stores, the impact of the huge album covers. Reading the lyrics on the insert as I carry the record home on the bus, wondering what each song will sound like. Putting the record carefully on the turntable. Your favourite songs were not only an investment but an object that needed to… Read more »

It’s possible to still do that, if you have the money.

I do find the cover art crucial and I belong to the CD generation crossing over to spotify. But of course I’m not trying to take away any personal relationship to buying an album.

The fact that Portugal and The Black Mamba are the only country that is excluded from this list tells you everything you need to know about how RTP thinks of Eurovision, marketing and elevating their artist.

Next poll: ”Which song has the best 17th word in their lyrics?”

Quality, not quantity, please.

That’s a poll I wasn’t expecting, but I’m glad it happened, because I love design. My absolutely favorite cover art this year is from Czech Republic. Everything about it is cool. But I also like Croatia, France, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia and Ukraine.

I chose Iceland. The pixel art is a simple but strong concept that has followed the group from the first time they competed in songvakeppnin 2017.

Its flexible and inclusive. Fans can upload their own pixelated faces on green background as profile pictures. It works on posters, t-shirts, mugs,…

And finally, you immediately connect it with Dadi and gagnamagnid. I was on my phone and his cover art was the first one that caught my eye on the collage.

But there are a lot of cool cover arts!

I don’t get why Ireland is so high up on the poll. All it is is Lesley in some fields somewhere with a Gotham Book font.

Based of the cover, I voted Switzerland, Israel and Estonia. But, I gotta admit that TIX’ cover is also very good.

To be honest, the best is probably Fallen Angel, damn, TIX as an angel on moving staircase, from heaven to hell, so modern and chic!

There are a few iconic ones to choose from here. Ukraine is very much of its time and also reminiscent of classic 90s trance artists like Altern-8 which is fitting. I love TIX’s visuals and they fit really well with the flawed, modern hero. I also have a soft spot for Fyr and Flamme – it is a simple visual which captures the essence of their song very well. I also enjoy Gjon’s Tears which is very classy and lots of others are great too.
