Krista Siegfrids didn’t win Eurovision 2013, but that didn’t stop her from making an impact. Armed with a veil and a message, she carried Finland to the grand final and raised the profile of gay marriage in the process. Now she’s ready to celebrate with what may be the most club-friendly album of the year.

Owing to her unique look and playful irreverence, Krista frequently draws comparisons with Katy Perry, P!nk and Gaga. Visually she matches the audacity and quirkiness of those three artists. But the sound of Ding Dong is far more Ke$ha. Krista takes her inspiration from The USA, laces the resulting pop with a Eurobeat, and blasts it out to clubland. It’s fresh. It’s upbeat. It’s BANGING!

Amen

This is a high-octane album that means business. All the tracks on her LP allign with her public persona. She is loud and in your face, but very likeable. Perhaps a slight overdose of auto-tune on some tracks, but she redeems herself by providing stellar vocals on Can You See Me—the only ballad on the album. Other standout tracks include Money, More is More, Stupid Love and 17.

Eurovision isn’t only about winning. This is a contest that provides a platform for artists to express their ideas—and with a bit of artistry. Krista Siegfrids takes on big concepts like teenage rebellion, materialism and equal marriage, and serves them up hot on the dancefloor. Sure, she doesn’t bring as much meat to the plate as Sinead O’ Connor or Alanis Morissette. But with her own brand of seasoning, this Finn sure makes Spam taste delicious.

There are not many artists like Krista in Europe. She should be HUGE! I’m betting she will be!

The song is catchy, but I don’t think religious people will like it.

I like your review and it has made me curious to listen to this album for myself.
It sounds like an interesting album apart from the autotune bit which I am a bit fed up with.
Why do it when you can actually sing? Please someone tell me . Why?

“The uploader has not made this video available in your country”

Was it something Canada did?
