  • “Love Is Forever” saw sweetness and jauntiness personified. Leonora, dressed in a white shirt and suspenders with her fiery red hair pulled back, brought an essence of French chanteuse. The camera stayed almost static on her stunning face – focusing on her beautiful feminine features, before panning out to two backing dancers who joined her on stage for some clever leg choreography.

With the superfinal votes coming in, Sigmund placed third with 23% of the votes. Gracious in defeat, Julie & Nina came second with a total of 35% of all votes. A shell-shocked Leonora accrued a total 42% of votes, sending “Love Is Forever” straight to Tel Aviv.

  • After three heats, two semi-finals and two voting rounds in the grand final, at last Hungary has decided. Joci Pápai will return to Eurovision, after he won A Dal 2019 with his song “Az én apám” (My father). 🇭🇺 _____________________________________________

  • Vidbir‘s producer Ruslan Kvinta had already described tonight’s final as a hot competition. He was right, as MARUV won tonight’s show with “Siren Song” amid explosive drama and red-hot words. She’ll represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv.
__________
Jamala decided to give the singer an example of a question she might face at a Eurovision press conference from a hard-nosed journalist.

She asked: “Crimea, is that Ukraine or…?” to which MARUV immediately replied: “Ukraine, of course.”
