November 21 won’t just be exciting for the children competing at Junior Eurovision 2015. It’s also a nerve-wracking, andrenaline-inducing time for host Poli Genova, who will present Bulgaria to millions of viewers across Europe (and Australia). She’s hosting the contest live and without a teleprompter, so will need to bring her A-game. But, as you can see in our interview from the JESC 2015 Opening Ceremony, she is always on point.

Despite failing to qualify for the grand final back in 2011, Poli says she only has positive memories of her Eurovision experience from Düsseldorf in 2011. Actually, she liked it so much that she can’t wait to come back! In fact, she hints that this might happen sooner than any of us would guess — and we’re thinking that means Stockholm!

Poli Genova interview at Junior Eurovision 2015

Poli is known for her edgy fashion and tells us that she takes inpiration from international superstars like P!nk and Rita Ora. These are just two of the fashion icons she follows on Instagram.

She also chats about her history with the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, how she feels about the hosting this big event and what she wants all of you to know about Bulgaria…

I always appreciate it when artists still love eurovision even after they don’t qualify/don’t do too well instead of being bitter about it. Her song that year was definitely underrated!

I second the sentiment that she was underrated in 2011, she was one of my favourites as well and the non-qualification that hurt the most.

“Na Inat” is good and if she has a stronger song, she could definitely qualify.

Hope to see Poli as the Bulgarian contestant in Stockholm 2016! Na Inat was perfect even if I didn’t understand nothing, can believe she didn’t qualify.

Na Inat was one of my favourites from the 2011 contest, she would be a great choice for Bulgaria in 2016! 😀
