In December she became one of the first artists to be confirmed for Eurovision 2018. And now, after close to three months of waiting, Australia’s Jessica Mauboy is finally ready to share her song for Lisbon “We Got Love”.
The former Idol star published a 45-second teaser of the official music video across her social media channels on Thursday morning. In addition, the songstress confirmed that “#WEGOTLOVE is out tomorrow”.
An exact time has yet to be confirmed.

“We Got Love” Leak
Of course, for many Eurofans the snippet is nothing they haven’t heard already. On Monday night, a full three minute version version of the track leaked online.
Record label Sony were quick to remove all evidence from sites such as YouTube, but it can still be listened to in other corners of the internet. Unsubstantiated rumours have since circulated claiming that the leak was only a demo. We’ll find out for sure on Friday.
Neither Jessica nor SBS have acknowledged the leak on their various social networks. However, Jessica did allude to the fallout in a recent interview with news.com.au, specifically the fan reaction.
It’s so wild. Every time I post something in the lead-up to Eurovision, I’m a little bit nervous, a little bit anxious.
Not so much about the fans reaction but more my reaction because every time I share something like the song or a bit of the video, it makes this all so real.
I am actually going to compete at Eurovision.
Team Australia aren’t the only ones battling leaks. On Sunday, SENNEK’S “A Matter Of Time” appeared online well ahead of its scheduled premiere on Tuesday morning. The Belgian delegation brought the official release forward by 24 hours in response.
And back in February, Sweden’s Melodifestivalen faced a flood of leaks as hackers published entries from Jessica Andersson, Dotter and Barbi Escobar while threatening to release more.
Whether you’ve heard the leak or not, you can’t have missed the hype.
The Eurovision 2014 interval singer been pushing #wegotlove all across social media.
A recent tweet reads “I left my heart on stage at Eurovision”. It is accompanied by a gif of her “Sea of Flags” performance at Eurovision 2014.
Meanwhile, former Australian representatives also jumped on board the #wegotlove train. Eurovision 2016 runner-up Dami Im and 2017 finalist Isaiah spread the love on both Instagram and Twitter.
Furthermore, “We Got Love” is co-written with proven hitmakers DNA –David Musumeci and Anthony Egizii .
The duo are responsible for both “Sound of Silence” and “Don’t Come Easy”. They’ve also worked with heavyweights like Delta Goodrem (“Wings”, “Dear Life”), The Veronicas (“You Ruin Me”, “If You Love Someone”, “In My Blood”) and Guy Sebastian, to name just a few.
Are you excited to hear “We Got Love” tomorrow? Or have you heard it already? What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
How on earth is it possible that Australia is getting a better ranking in the Odds after a leak/snippet of their mediocre song and Belgium is still in the same place after they released the full song and video (Belgium’s song is WAY better and has more quality tbh). I don’t understand?
Maybe Belgium’s song is not so good as (almost) everybody say here…?
Australia’s song is generic but very catchy while Belgium’s song is a James Bond copycat
‘Cause we got love, we got love, we got love and 100x times again..:D
Maybe is the video, but this sounds slighly better than the audio leaked. It could be the sound quality or the demo explanation. Anyway, I don’t specially like this song, but will be top 10, of course.
In my opinion, this is an amazing song. It’s far better than Isaiah’s entry last year, and I can see this doing super well!
All the negative comments just because it’s Australia need to honestly lay off. This is genuinely a good quality song.
12 points from Bulgaria!!!
This will definitely not struggle with televotes and will do very well. 8.5/10 for song
Why do the negative comments need to lay off? Maybe people just don’t like the song?
Don’t worry people about it not being yet released. If it’s the same as with some other song releases in Australia, this will be officially available already in less than an hour, at 13:00 UTC today. 😉 I’ve heard the song and I don’t think it’s anything special that would get my attention from other things while listening to the contest, however now while we can see part of the music video, visually this reminded me a little of CamelPhat – “Paradigm” (now going back to listen to that track instead for a couple of times again). If it only… Read more »
Wiwibloggs, thanks for the advertisement, we will continue to work fruitfully on unintentional leaks!))
This is alright, I think a powerful live performance would be very memorable. What I’m questioning is whether there is a jury-bias to Australia, 2016 was very jury-friendly, and 2017 arguably was as well (when Isaiah hit the notes lol) but there was a huge disparity between jury and televotes. This I’m not sure is as jury-friendly and she might struggle to make the top ten as a result. What I think we may have seen last year with the televote is that maybe it takes a lot for people to vote for Australia, as to whether they deserve to… Read more »
Somewhere in the bottom of my list..Good luck Australia!
I Just watched her interval act Sea of Flags number again, and whilst the vocals were ok-ish in the chorus, the verses were diabolical especially when she sang in the lower register. I will withhold judgement on We got Love until I have heard her sing it live! But then again what does it really matter, it’s the EBU;s favourite baby Australia so its bound to be top 10 regardless of what anyone else thinks or says
Indeed. That interval is precisely why I was so negative about Jessica, initially.
although… it might mostly have been the song that I found so awful. It was just so tacky.
Jessica’s performances are not just limited to the 2014 interval act. I have been a fan since her Australian idol day’s and have been to her concert last year. She is an outstanding performer and very charismatic. Every singer including the well known ones have had their bad moments. I feel sorry for Jess because people seem to be skeptical about her based on 2014 only.
Exactly why I said that I was withholding judgement til I heard her sing this one live, she may well have had voice tuition since then or may had a throat infection in 2014, I dont know!. I commented solely on the one live performance of hers that I had seen, which was dire !!
Wonderful song, please win
If Australia wins, they won’t be allowed to host next year, and instead it’ll have to be one of the Big 5 countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, or the United Kingdom) 🙁
This.Is.So.Good. I just lost my wig guys. This sounds like a winner to me.
This year we have clearly many songs we can make in the same category… is it a lack of originality….maybe : Australia Azerbaidjan Czechia Finland Cyprus Ukraine Uk Moldova Malta San Marino, generic up tempo pop songs (anthemic for australia azerbaidjan finland and san marino) Latvia Belgium Croatia, jazzy songs Netherlands Hungary, pure rock Belarus Armenia, mid tempo ballads Spain Germany Montenegro Iceland, slow ballads Serbia Greece, same kind of songs but I can’t find the good word to definite them. In any case all of them have to stand out as not to be forgotten… Italy Slovenia Albania France… Read more »
If australia last year got 2 points from televote i am wondering what they will do this year. Their worst entry so far, but i am afraid that juries will give them 150 points more for some reason…
Just wish that UK could send something like this…how hard can it be??!!
FAB song, by the way! Australia´s heading for another Top 5 shot.
Justice for Margaret! This years San Marino singer copied her song spread it so she can see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeELdhydlkk
I for one have already seen this posted about 5 times now. Please be more specific about your intentions for a petition, or persue this at a legal level. Thanks.
and we’ve seen your snobby views commenting on every post what’s the difference…
I’m trying to support the blog. It’s supposed to be good for everyone to get behind one fan platform. But I’ll happily go away and start my own if you’d prefer.
Don’t you dare leave (Unless you really start something good.). The number of people who one can exchange opinions with without insulting each other as way too low as it is already.
It’s just a bit boring, the witch hunt. If you want to do something about it then go through proper channels instead of rallying people up against a performer. We probably don’t even know the story behind it.
Warner or whatever Margaret is with will gladly hear your complaint.
Meanwhile, you’re much appreciated on this platform, Purple Mask.
Nobody cares, “Party Shore” isn’t participating in Eurovision.
Haha, Literally the same song 😀
Yessss jessss!! The country is behind you 🙂
A snippet after the whole song was leaked?
At least Belgium was smarter and released their song a bit earlier after the same happened.
We’ve already heard it. Can’t she release it already or is she gonna pretend we don’t know it already lol there’s literally no hype anymore
So you don’t value the visual appeal of a music video? (I know you do. I’m just pointing out the oversight.) 🙂
Actually I have not seen it before. I missed the leak.
This reminds me of a Carly Slay Jepsen song :3
Difference with this song and the other generic pop songs released this year is there is an anthem to it along with an athemic beat.
It’s a positive song; it’s not the biggest and best, but it’s bursting with 70 % energy.
This will translate well live.
Certainly better than the Saara Aalto song
I can see this standing out (in a positive way) amongst so many bland songs this year. Yes it is generic but most songs these days are. As long as the full song sounds good & is performed well on stage Australia will be a serious contender this year.
Mans and Petra could have sung this too instead of love love peace peace it would have worked ! Lol I’m too bad !
It’s ok…. Will go through… But I don’t understand why Australia shortened in odds after this!
Because it’s hardly groundbreaking in comparison to some of the other countries. It’s quite a safe choice for them.
No doubt they will rise again during rehearsals or the betting may be wrong and they manage to win the whole thing.
It was puzzling for me too. On the other hand, after its release Belgium’s song created a lot of buzz yet its odds didn’t drop that much. What can be the reason behind this? Or maybe I don’t really understand the bookies.
Same, there’s no way that Australia is placed higher than Belgium. I’m sure that the top 10 will change over time. I was suprised that Belgium didn’t climb so much after receiving so much praising.
I am so happy with this. I thought the first snippet I heard only consisted of the repetition of the “We got love”- part leading me to believe that the was the chorus/ highlight of the song and finding it bad. I am so glad the entire song leaked right after because otherwise, I might have had to eat more of my words. After Waylon, she is now my second favorite and for the first time, I am over the moon about Australia participating. If she nails the live performance (and that is a big if), I can get 100%… Read more »
I thought you didn’t like pseudo-bangers
I loathe them! But this ain’t pseudo, in my opinion. It has a certain drive throughout the entire song and the lyrics, while nothing great, are not so bad that they can’t resonate with me. Everything about this makes sense. And compared to Cyprus (where nothing makes sense) or Azerbaijan, this one is a masterpiece.
And what’s more, I had to completely dismiss Saara Aalto after her performance. And Jessica is yet to perform.
Bad call to write off Saara Alto. She’ll come back and blow you away with her vocals. Like she did in X Factor UK many times over.
You are not Saara so that’s hardly a given. I agree with you that it ain’t over (though her chances of winning are, I believe) but she will have to make a complete U-turn. I am writing her off until proven otherwise, because the performance, the visuals, the entire staging and clothing, pretty much everything was atrocious (no hyperbole, I was shocked!) to me. Also song wise, I clearly prefer “We Got Love” over “Monsters”.
At the very least, her Performances showed bad judgement. It’s not like she was in rush. They were planning this forever!
* in a rush
I would love to be Saara. 🙂
I like how your musical opinions change. It’s refreshing.
I know Saara’s team will put together something different for ESC. So there is that.
^I was replying to Ari.
I agree that it will be different, but that does not necessarily mean good. It might be a different kind of bad. But yeah, one can assume that she will at least get her vocal act together. I mean, the girl who belted out “Chandelier” has got to be hidden in there somewhere.
Did my musical opinions change, though? It was a bad call to judge Australia based on a snippet. But about Finland… it’s “Dance Alone” all over again. Some performances just can’t be forgiven. 😛
I would not mind having to say “Hey! This is awesome!” about Finland come May. But as of now, color me dubious. 😉
*Reaches for my grey-coloured pencil. 😛
If Saara wants epic staging, she must follow the video-clip and that scene like she was Jesus at the last supper. A long table, with food on it, and Saara in the middle surrounded by 5 men (to be 6 on stage).
Let’s do this! 🙂
Yes for me is the only good staging she can have. Why artists don’t do what they did in the video, if they see the video is successful?
Celine Dion’s “I’m alive” cover?
Its Only OK. Its not a Winner for me.
Finally it was not a demo, it’s exactly the end of the song that we all have already listened.
It’s a good song but very very generic, not original, not inspired and not inspiring…but for this kind of song, an anthem, it is good, however the lyrics are weak….. Will the juries like it… ? Maybe….a little….. the top 10 is not sure this year for Australia….but we already said that the last year about Australia…..Eurovision is not predictable even if bookmakers try…..that is why eurovision is so interesting.
To finish the live performance will be the key as for all acts but I don’t keep a good impression of the live performance of jessica mauboy at Esc 2014…she didn’t sing very well unfortunately….we will see if she’s better this time.
Just release the song for God’s sake. It was leaked already. Hyping up a song people already know is average won’t do any good.
I didn’t hear the song! 😉
Hopefully it will sound good when its performed on live stage.
I love this song, but something is missing for me and I can’t point out what exactly.
Anyway, GOOD LUCK !!!!!
Lol everyone always gets so salty about Australia. I’m just here with my popcorn laughing all the way to the top 10. I think this’ll stand out at Eurovision this year and I’m excited to see the kind of energy that Jess will bring to it live.
So easy to be “laughing all the way to the top 10” when it’s given to you every year without having to try, regardless of what you send.
Other countries try harder and fail imo just for Australia’s gain.
2016 was good, 2015 was good but not deserving of top 5 in my opinion. 8-9th place at least, but 2017 was a complete overhype, and 2018 will be no different.
Look, I may be (actually, given the televote results, I actually definitely am) in a minority here but I don’t think Isaiah was THAT bad or THAT undeserving. He had a decent song and decent staging. Was it as good as Dami or Guy? No. And therefore, it didn’t perform as well. I still believe that it was a good package overall and was deserving of a high placing. I don’t believe that Australia is as untouchable as everyone makes us out to be. One day, we will probably send something that completely misses the mark and not even our… Read more »
Kinda silly to release a teaser after a leak. I think that holding your entry back until the last possible weekend is not a good idea in our internet age after all. And generally it leaves not much time for promotion.
There are 5 or 6 songs that can potentially win this year but Australia entry is not one of them. It will be hyped coz its Australia. Good but not a winning song.
Grace, Gabriel, Anne, Damien, Polina, Christy or whatever or name is! You do realise that your avatar stays the same when you use the same email!
Hahaha!! Facepalm! That person must have an awful lot of time on their hands.
#generic #nothingspecial #bottom10
To me it looks the same as the demo of some days ago.
Just release the song already for god’s sake.
Nothing special, even the vocals are nowhere special.., oh wait its in top 10 because its Australia
Samantha Jade voice is better for this song!!
YES YES YES YES!!!!! This is SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Best Australian ESC song yet and straight to the top of my leaderboard
It’s really nothing special, we see these kind of tunes every year at ESC, don’t know why people are getting so hyped about about it …..oh wait, it’s Australia nevermind, carry on.
Mmmmmm ok song, top 15 definitely…
So generic.. its a good song but will not win…
Love this song!
Ummm this is SOOO much better than the demo! Thank the LAWD, I am KEEN again <3
