She is the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 and one of the biggest pop stars in Serbia. And on Friday Marija Serifovic gave the biggest concert of her career so far at the sold-out Stark Arena in Belgrade.

More commonly known as Belgrade Arena, it’s the same venue where the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 was held (following Marija’s win) and can accommodate more than 20,000 fans.

A concert in one of the biggest arenas in the Balkans was a perfect way for Serifovic to celebrate the anniversary of her debut album Naj, najbolja 15 years ago.

Marija Serifovic at Belgrade Arena 2018: Recap

The singer opened the concert with her 2015 hit “Pametna i luda” (Smart and Crazy) and then went on to greet and thank the audience.

“Good evening, Belgrade! And now it is my turn. And, of course, it would not have happened without you. Thank you to eternity for coming here tonight.”

And now it is my turn was the slogan under which Serifovic promoted the concert — and it fit rather well, as several other well-known singers had had concerts at the same venue in previous weeks.

The highlight of the evening was “Molitva“, her winning Eurovision entry, which she performed with her original backing vocalists from Helsinki — the Beauty Queens.

Another highlight was the performance of special guest Lepa Brena, one of the biggest music stars of the former Yugoslavia, who remains highly popular even now.

After the concert, Serifovic posted a photograph of her on stage with the audience in the background and wrote:

“I do not know what words to use to describe how I feel about what you did for me yesterday. You have given me so much love… My audience is the best in the world! Thank you, Belgrade! You know… 💙”

“I dedicate this whole concert to people who love music and listen to it with all their bodies, hearts and souls,” she told TV Prva shortly before stepping out on stage.

Numerous celebrities attended the concert to support Serifovic on her big day, including Jelena Karleusa, her colleague from the jury of the talent show Zvezde Granda, and Jelena Tomasevic, who represented Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008.

Serifovic is now preparing for another big concert, which will be held on the 23rd of June at Kosevo Stadium in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

One of my favourite winners! She is amazing! She deserves this carrer! Go girl!

I still haven’t forgiven Graham Norton for referring to her as ‘this creature’ during the voting. She may not be a runway model-type but there are several very beautiful things about her.

That was not Graham Norton but Terry Wogan. Graham Norton took over from him in 2009.

One of the best winners in recent times. 🙂

Roy Moreno

I’m always happy to read about her having a succesful career she really deserves 🙂
Go Marija! <3

They should send her to represent Serbia once again in 2019.

no need to worry

She looks amazingly hot

OK, let’s not go that far.

But there is something charming about her. She was able to achieve great success in the Balkans by virtue of her musical talent alone.

no need to worry

Agree. But she does look a lot cuter than 2007. Also look at her in that suit!!!! I don’t know what’s the right term but can you name me a butch thats more attractive than her?

Coincidentally, I was listening to Molitva earlier today. Must be kismet!

She’s great! Very, very talented.

@ Sebastiao

Some Serbian fans didn’t like what you just wrote 😀
