Alisa Kozhikina – winner of the Voice Kids Russia 2014 – will sing for Russia in Malta.
The young Russian has a strong singing competition pedigree though. She’s previously entered New Wave Junior 2012, Baltic Constellation 2012 and took first prize at the Rose of the Winds in Moscow.
Russian broadcaster Karusel will be hoping the starlet can secure a second victory for Russia. Moscow last won JESC in 2006 with the Tolmachevy Twins.
She won The Voice Kids with nearly 60% of the vote so despite her internal selection she has a strong popular mandate for success.
Team Wiwi has fallen in love with her amazing and soulful rendition of Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’.
Kozhikina has the full package and we can’t wait to hear her entry!
Update: It’s emerged that esteemed producer Max Fadeev will prepare the singer and her song “Dreamer” for the JESC stage. Olga Seryabkina—from the group Serebro (Eurovision 2007)—helped Alisa write the lyrics to the song.
I heard that a girl from Serbero is writing this song, well, we all know what kind of song this is gonna be then! 😛
Nevertheless, I really hope she won´t get booed.
I’m Russian and obviously I tend to root for Russia, but talking about this video: am I the only one who thinks it’s very disturbing for a child to sing a song with such lyrics?
Cool!!!!
Max Fadeev will write song for her (Russia 2004, 2007), so we’ll not hear another Taras Demchuk’s pop song (JESC Russia 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013).
Wow! She definitly has a strong voice.
