Refill the hairspray and warm up the wind machine: Moldovan broadcaster Teleradio Moldova is gearing up for its 2015 national selection O melodie pentru Europa! Head of delegation Vitali Rotaru tells wiwibloggs that TRM is planning to hold a national selection that will be similar to previous years, with two semis and one final. The winner will be chosen by a 50/50 jury and televote decision. The only difference is that the final will most likely be heald earlier, at the end of February, which will leave more time for promotion.
Update: TRM has released the official rules containing more details of the selection. Thus, the semi-finals will be broadcast live on 24 and 26 February, with the Final on the 28th. They will follow, like in the previous years, two jury selections – one behind closed doors and a live audition. Before the semi-finals, 24 songs will be chosen. There is no restriction concerning the nationality of the songwriters or singers, which is a premiere for Moldova. The deadline for submissions is 15 December 2014.
Last year, Cristina Scarlat was the winner of the Moldovan national selection, and went on to represent the country in Denmark with the ballad “Wild Soul”. However, she failed to qualify for the Grand Final.
The country’s best record to date was sixth place at their Eurovision debut in 2005, Zdob si Zdub’s “Bunica bate toba”.

No more dubstep nightmares out of Moldova, please 🙂 There’s dubstep, and then there’s a nightmare of dubstep… I can’t believe the jury members of Moldova chose that song.
I’d like to see Boris Covali finally get his chance. The incident this year with the song “Flying” being pulled was such nonsense that his second consecutive second placing in a national final was even more unlucky than Danny Saucedo’s.
It just wouldn’t be Eurovision without Moldova bringing their gimmicks, because they are admittedly very good at it.
I love Moldovan entries, all except Christina Scarlat. Yup, even Zdob si zdub, especially in 2005. Aliona Moon was the best song in 2013, I wish she at least got Top 10.

*2005. But yeah, I hope they send an amazing song this year! Wild Soul was good, but it was just one of those songs that got lost among the better and more publicized songs. I think it would’ve had a chance of making it if it was in the second semi-final
All I ask for is another song written by Pasha Parfeny and sung by an amazing singer like their 2013 effort which imo was one of the best songs that year and Moldova’s second best (after the amazing Natalia Barbu) attempt ever.
