Danish singer and two-time DMGP finalist Bryan Rice has released a new single from his fourth album, which is scheduled to be released by the end of this year. “Hear Me As I Am” shows the pop-tastic side of Bryan, who had his break-through with ballads like “No Promises” and his MGP 2010 entry “Breathing“.

“Hear Me As I Am” is not as danceable as Bryan’s DMPG 2014 entry “I Choose U“, but it has the power to put you in a great mood even on a grey day (trust me: I live in Finland). The song’s lyrics might sound a bit shallow on first listen, as most of the song is the chorus, but when reading the text through, it shows Bryan’s great talent as a songwriter too. “The overall theme of “Hear Me As I Am” is to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings and hurt feelings by being better at listening to each other rather than judging by what others may say or think”, Bryan explains on his Facebook page. “Hear Me As I Am” also shows Bryan’s vocal ability and the song is perfect for his vibrant voice.

Knowing that his upcoming album will include three very different songs – melodious “Hear Me As I Am”, dancefloor hit “I Choose U” and touching “These Arms” – it’s very exciting to hear what other music genres this Danish multi-talent will try out. You can purchase the song by clicking here.

Hear Me As I Am lyrics

All your secrets are known
You’re a solitary prince on a throne
What are promises and kingdoms worth when
Nothing’s left for you to keep?

Standing in the light alone
Close to being home
Wishing you would only hear
Me

What are words worth to you?
Is it really a matter of truth?
If I open my mouth in defence
Will my words mean less to me?

Now I choose to sing my song
in a different key
Wishing you would only hear
Me

Hear me as I am
Hear me as I am

That you could
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am

There’s a truth in your mind
It just happens that life made you blind
Tell me who is your rock, your best friend?
Could be your help your guarantee

Now I choose to sing my song
in a different key
Wishing you would only hear
Me

Hear me as I am
Hear me as I am

That you would
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am

It’s not a matter of who, what and when
let’s chase this moment, not what happened back then
I’m not here to outrage or anything
No, I just want you to listen to what I sing

Hear me as I am
Hear me as I am

That you would
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am

That you would
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am
Hear me, hear me
Hear me as I am
