At the first live round of The Voice of Romania last night, Aliona Moon shone once again, proving that she is a force to be reckoned with. Despite the fact that the audience voted for another contestant, her coach Smiley saw her potential and saved her from among the three remaining singers in a nail-biting moment.
After slaying her competition in the Battle round, Aliona, who competes in The Voice of Romania under her real name Aliona Munteanu, chose a Romanian 80’s ballad for the first live round: “De-ar fi sa vii”, by the late singer Mihaela Runceanu. She also donned an 80’s skirt to match the era and she looked amaze.

Despite an instant outpouring of support on Twitter, Facebook and on the show’s app, where she was deemed the clear winner of the round, the audience (and probably the entire police force) rallied behind police officer Gelu Graur. Nevertheless, coach Smiley didn’t waste much time and chose to save Aliona Moon, who thus advances to the next live round.
Aliona is the only remaining contestant from the Republic of Moldova. We will keep you up-to-date with her progress in the show.

The last time a former Eurovision contestant went for a reality show was Joe McCall. He auditioned for The X Factor and he didn’t even get past… Read more »

I hope she wins, O Mie was the most underrated song in 2014, killed by the #3 starting position.
