Things are slowly heating up in Finland, where the Finnish broadcaster YLE will introduce the 18 artists taking part in Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2015 in just two weeks. The amount of songs has increased over the past three years, which means even more songs and talent.

Tonight, on the first day of 2015, UMK started to post small hints of the competing songs to their Instagram profile. It seems that eight of the songs are in English, nine in Finnish and surprisingly, one in Spanish.

They also posted a teaser for the contest, which gives us one important date – February 7. That is when the first artists will take the stage and start to fight for the right to represent Finland at Eurovision 205 in Vienna. However, we still don’t know how many rounds there will be before the big final.

I can’t adequately describe how excited I am for the return of UMK. 😀 Softengine were my ESC 2014 winners and UMK is also where I found my NF season winners as well (Softengine didn’t even win their NF for me, *that’s* how good it was). Good luck Finland! I really want to carry your flag into the Stadthalle in support. 😀

I absolutely adored Jasmin Michaela as well, it would be refreshing to have a fun, up-beat song in finnish like her song last year. Though on the other hand, a song in spanish? That would be amusing 😛

I loved all of Finland’s acts since UMK was introduced (Softengine being my #2 in 2014), even though I may just be biased because I’m half Finnish though 😛

I would love to see Mikko Pohjola represent Finland even though I don’t think I’ve ever seen returning competitors in UMK, but I still would love a Finnish language song.

I guess we’ll never get another Finnish representative at Eurovision singing in Svenska. 🙁
