I think the best chance that GREECE has is with ELENA MARIA KYRIAKOU the other songs are very ordinary to be polite and I think that if Greece goes with any of the other entries except Maria Elena Kyriakous entry, they will occupy the five bottom places, the worst one is Shaya that is so ordinary it isn’t funny I don’t like that one at all.

All five songs are solid. Greece will not occupy any among bottom 5 or even bottom 10 places this year. Personally, I would like to see Maria Elena in Eurovision. I know it’s a ballad, but: A) it’s a very lovely ballad, B) Greece is known for always sending dance music, so a ballad would be a novelty for them.

I would have to choose CReal for the best song because yes it may be a pop/rock song but what makes it original to the country is the Bouzouki playing in the background. Shayas song is not bad but it sounds like it could be from another country. Barrice is pretty good as well. Thomai’s song is horrible and Maria’s song is a typical ballad which gets boring after a while. At least Creal’s song has a touch of Greece which is what Eurovision should be about!

I think that one out of these three ladies will win the Greek NF. My top 3 out of these is: 1.Shaya 2.Thomai 3.Maria Elena..
I think that Shaya can be in top 10 because of the televoting and will stand tall with so many ballads…Thomai can bee in the top 15 for the same reason… Maria Elena can be in top 15 because its a good ballad but not the best 🙂
The other two between 20-25 or no final!

I think Greece should withdraw. What happens every year is just unfair. Juries keep dragging greeks to the bottom. In 2011 Greece would finish 3th ( !!! ) and in 2012 9th if it weren’t the juries. There was not a single year so far that Greece was benefited from the juries. I am praying that someday we will return to the old format ( televoting only ), I can’t stand the fact that 5 random people from each country affect the final results so much. Greece should do what Turkey did. Let’s leave the contest with dull ballads like… Read more »

“One last breath” – the best from these songs …I think it will win but ….why is this song so Elhaida’s songs cause Albania will have also a ballad too . “Im still alive” is coming … and part of the lyrics of this song include the words –im still alive — WTF LOL … I hope Elhaida’s song will be so different song from this lol

I love Thonai and Shaya nearly equally, however Shaya can make top 10 with a good performance, and, whislt I love her, I don’t think Thomai can.

Only one that stood out to me was Barrice.

The dance break is the best thing about Thomai’s song.

Shaya I was looking forward too but I’m disappointed and it sounds so familiar but i can’t put my finger on it??

The rest are eww

Thomai or Shaya for me! Although I could see all of these songs doing well at ESC, I mean, Greece has made top 10 with worse song.
Man I love that Greece always does well in the contest with songs that are so distinguishably greek. I can think of few other countries that display their culture so successfully on stage (your time will come one day Portugal, keep faith).

None of these are particularly good. Seems like it will be between Shaya and Thomai but even then I think Greece’s unbroken qualification record is at risk…

I’m between Barrice and Shaya. It will come down to the live performance I guess.

Maria-Elena’s ballad is probably the worst of the bunch. So 90s and such a lame “Rise like a phoenix” ending…

The only one I kinda like is “Ela”. Thomai is absolutely horrible please don’t send her. C:Real and Maria are also pretty bad. Shaya’s ok, probably my second favourite but I don’t really like her either. Sorry Greece but you’d be lucky to make the top 20 this year.

Barrice’s song is very good (although repetitive) but everything goes wrong when the bouzouki begins !!! it’s like all over 2001. where is the current sound?

Saya is good although i expected more from her, her previous singles were excellent and current. Her Eurovision song sounds like Rainmaker.

Thomai has a nice Greek tune but it might sound too weird for European audience.

I did not like Maria Elena’s ballad. Not the right ballad for Eurovision.
In general, i’m not impressed at all. Greece will be borderline just like last year.

I wasn’t expecting to like Jazz & Sirtaki this much 😛 it’s a grower, wanted to hate it at first, but ended up liking it. I like it for being fun, we need more songs like that at ESC! But is that kind of songs people either love or hate, and the reaction in the comments here are a proof of that, so it would be a gamble, it could do very well or very bad. NOW, Greece has done it before, just remember Alcohol is Free and look it well it did. Shaya has good first instant impact, but… Read more »

1) Barrice – unpopular opinion, but it’s so catchy
2) Maria Elena – I’d be surprised if Greece sent a ballad, but the song and her voice are really good
3) Shaya – it’s good, but it doesn’t catch me
4) Thomai – I kind of like it, but there’s something missing
5) C:Real – by far the worst song, very unoriginal

Barrice is the best! Great, typical upbeat Greek chorus, and I like the little bit after the siren, when the track speeds up, back to the chorus!

All the 5 songs are amazing! I would specially vote for these three: Thomai, Barrice and Shaya; but what really, really, really is going for gold is this last one: SHAYA! GO GREECE!!

Shay or Thomai would probably get the best reception. The rest, though none of them particularly bad, would get caught up in the competition and probably be forgotten.

I don’t think this is the best Greece has to offer ……

Nothing sound special and top 10 worthy ….

But if I had to pick I would put, Shaya or C-real for the win.
It is weird cos since 2009 I haven’t actually really liked any of their songs, 2011 was the icing on the cake and coming so well in the final totally killed my view on how Europe votes.
Anyway, best of luck …… Bring back the enthusiasm every single ESC fan used to have for the Greek national final till 2008 back.

I think its between Shaya and Maria-Elena. Shaya will do well in the televoting but the juries will “kill” her.On the other hand Maria’s song isn’t sure it will be a televoting success.I really don’t know this year.I hope for a final because our semi final is really hard.Estonia has great song and Russia,Armenia,Romania,Georgia ,Hungary and Moldova will qualify for sure.Denmark and Serbia also. So there is only one place left. But again you never know.

I’m not into Shaya, her song is too cheap for my taste and just a plain song. I want Greece to send something odd (in a good way) which isn’t something like the songs already chosen to the contest, and therefore my choice is Thomai 😀

After 3 times hearing them, here is my top 5:
1. Shaya- Sunshine: 8/10 : nice, catchy, puts a smile on me
2. Maria Elena Kiriakou- One Last Breath: 8/10: a fine ballad, with a lovely voice
3. Thomai Apergi- Jazz & Syrtaki: 7.8/10: nice in it’s genre, but a bit cliche
4. C:Real- Crash & Burn: 7/10: good song, but it comes out as monotonous
5. Barrice- Ela: 4/10: A mix of 3 or more different songs, the bridge with the mpouzouki doesn’t fit at all. One big mess.

Shaya would be the best for us. Total package, great live vocals, unique song compared to the other countries. I like Barrice’s song a lot too but his live vocals will hurt him. I REALLY hope we don’t pick Thomai though, the song is so cheesy!

Shaya would definitely put on a show on the stage of ESC, so I guess she should win. Plus, the song is catchy. I wish she got rid of the cheesy synthesizer. It makes the song more ’90s. Which is awful, if you ask me

I feel it’s best when a country tries something different instead of sending he same sort of pop song each year.
Thomai is the stand out of these five. Go jazz or go home! haha

Torn between Shaya and Thomai, but I feel like Jazz & Sirtaki could be a good campaign slogan for the Greek National Tourism Organization while ‘Sunshine’ got this great fusion of traditional and modern wind and percussion instruments that compensates for its rather basic composition. The best killer James Bond climax is Maria-Elena’s, but the build up of the song is unbalanced and overloaded with a false show of emotion like Anna Vissi did in 2006 with ‘Everything’.
