Julio Iglesias (Spain 1970) is back with a new single. The Spanish legend has just released “Fallaste Corazón” (You failed, heart), a laidback romantic song which brings back the old days. Get in the mood, y’all!
“Fallaste Corazón” talks about unrequited love, about someone Julio had to let go, and so he tells his heart that it was wrong about that woman. It’s like Edurne’s heart asking her not to come back without Giuseppe’s (or David’s) love, but in reverse.
The song – his first Spanish-language single in 12 years – was written by the prolific Mexican songwriter Cuco Sánchez. It’s also a track on Julio’s upcoming album Mexico – Julio Iglesias, where he interprets 12 classics from Mexico’s popular music history.
Julio Iglesias represented Spain in 1970 with the song “Gwendolyne”, in the early days of his career, just a few years before he became a global superstar. He only finished fourth (in a field of 12) in Amsterdam, but from there, Mr Iglesias has built an international career and he’s usually acclaimed as the best selling Spanish artist ever. His son Enrique Iglesias has followed in his father’s footsteps and is now one of the dream candidates of many Spanish Eurovision fans to represent the country.
