Marco Mengoni must be chandelier swinging today! After the great success of his latest single “Ti ho voluto bene veramente”, which went double platinum in his homeland, the Italian stallion has published his fourth studio album “Le cose che non ho” (Things I don’t have). It comes just 11 months after his previous chart-topping album “Parole in circolo”.

“I chose this title to remind everyone how important it is to learn how to look within, how to enjoy life’s moments that make up a day,” he said with today’s release. “And in my case, it’s to remind myself of the luck that happened to me, ’cause I can do every day what I like most”.

Eleven songs comprise the tracklist and one of them, “Rock Bottom”, is beyond special! Not only because it’s the only English-language track, but also because it was written by one of the most prominent authors and singers of our time: Sia Furler!

We are sure that Marco downed one, two, three drinks when he received the track from the Australian popstar. Anyone would think they were dreaming. But no: this is real and the song is a delicious piece of emotional, contemporary pop. Bravo!

Speaking during the press conference to introduce his new album, Marco was effusive. “It’s a great privilege being able to collaborate with the artists you like most. I consider Sia the most interesting pop singer and songwriter of the moment. I really appreciate her way of composing and I find that her taste is extraordinarily similar to mine in the construction of some sounds”.

Sia is the lucky one. Lucky that her song is elevated by such a great performer.
