Tomorrow we will find out three more UMK 2016 finalists when the second heat of Finland’s Eurovision 2016 selection UMK takes place in Helsinki. Over the past week the Wiwi Jury — our in-house panel of musical unprofessionals — listened to and rated all six of the songs. Here’s what we said.
The Wiwi Jury thinks it’s Annica Milán & Kimmo Blom who should win the second heat tomorrow. With a verdict of 7.9, their song “Good Enough” is also our favourite so far to win the whole contest. Our jury members loved the song, saying “the lyrics are optimistic and hopeful without being overly sentimental and the melody is memorable and breathtaking“.
In second place is Cristal Snow with “Love Is Blind“. One of the jurors described the song as “modern, brooding and ultimately quite sweet”, while some weren’t that impressed, saying “it’s too literal, too intense and just too much of everything”. However, the song is still among our dream qualifiers, with a verdict of 6.13.
The last song which we think should qualify comes from Mikael Saari. His song “On It Goes” got our jurors very passionate, with some saying, “I am totally and completely head over heels in love with this song” but some think “the song itself bores me to death, and I’d fall asleep immediately if it weren’t for the super screechy violins”. With a verdict of 6.03, he’s the one who we think should qualify from the second semifinal.
Narrowly dropping out of the final would be Attention 2. Their song “Ready For The Show” got a Wiwi Jury verdict of 6. If we could decide, Rafaela Truda and Ylona would also be kicked out of the final.

Well, I would say that Mikael Saari is a definite qualifier. Out of the others, Annika & Kimmo and Christal Snow have the best chances. If Rafaela Truda is really good, like Stella in the first semi, she might make it instead of Annika & Kimmo or Christal Snow.

@eugene, part of the reason for the viewcount is that the song has been accused of plagiarism and people are checking out the claim.

Annica and Kimmo will win the heat, with Cristal Snow and Rafaela 2nd and 3rd. Finland thankfully chose the better songs in the 1st heat and will hopefully do the same here.
It’ll probably qualify, but sending Good Enough to Stockholm would result in disaster for Finland.
My qualifiers would also be Good Enough, On It Goes and Love is Blind. So, let’s just hope that happens.
