At Eurovision 2016 Norway will hope to continue its momentum of finishing in the top 10. And with less than a week to go until Melodi Grand Prix 2016 kicks off on 27 February at the Oslo Spektrum, broadcaster NRK has just announced the running order which you can see below.

Melodi Grand Prix 2016 Running Order

  1. The Hungry Hearts feat. Lisa Dillan – “Laika”
  2. Stage Dolls – “Into The Fire”
  3. Ulla – “Traces”
  4. Makeda – “Stand Up”
  5. Pegasus – “Anyway”
  6. Freddy Kalas – “Feel Da Rush”
  7. Laila Samuels – “Afterglow”
  8. Elouiz – “History”
  9. Suite 16 – “Anna Lee”
  10. Agnete – “Icebreaker”

As usual, there are two rounds of voting. The top four entries progress to a Gold Final, where the televoters decide the winner and Norway’s Eurovision 2016 representative for Stockholm. Our poll is still open where you can vote for your favourites.

Last year’s winners Mørland & Debrah Scarlett finished 8th in the final with their entry “A Monster Like Me”.

I hope Laika wins. We need more different/fun songs in eurovision or else it’ll just be a boring typical disaster of strong female ballads and male pop songs

Please please please let it be Laila! Unfortunately I think the odds are stacked in Freddy’s favour with the 100% televote in the super final. I just hope the Norwegian public realise the true potential and quality when they listen to the songs. Afterglow is by far the strongest song!

All the stronger songs are in second half, lol…

@Martin: Charts and MGP placing don’t necessarily have anything to do with each other. Remember 2010.

For me best 3 songs are
1. Laila Samuels – “Afterglow”
2. The Hungry Hearts feat. Lisa Dillan – “Laika”
3. Ulla – “Traces”
4. Agnete – “Icebreaker”

But my prediction for 4 supefinalist and result in superfinal are
1/2 Agnete or Suite 16 (if Norway have same taste as Denmark in last 2 year)
3. Laila Samuels – “Afterglow”
4.Freddy Kalas – “Feel Da Rush”

LAIKA FOR THE WINNNNN

@Martin
Keep in mind that last year, Staysman & Lazz’s song had more commercial success than all the others, both before and after the show, but it then came third. Not everyone who listens to pop music watches MGP. So I think there is a chance for the others to win.

Laika, Afterglow or Icebreaker for Norway, i prefer Afterglow to win. They will easily go to the final in may.

Denmark this year: 2 girls fighting to win, and one group with a meh song, that wins the voting.

Norway: Afterglow vs Icebreaker! And then Laika comes in xD or Freddy….

My top 3 are performing 8,9 and 10 so I’m very happy with the running order.

Feel da rush will probably win. It’s at number 3 in the Norwegian charts right now and Freddy is a very popular artist. If the winner was chosen by a 50% jury vote and 50% televote, Laila would’ve had a chance. Sadly, the winner will be chosen by 100% televote which means that Freddy will win

Feel da rush is right now on number 3 at VG lista (norwegian single chart). It’s still in top 10 on itunes as well. Any other song has achieve that.. even close to Freddy. We’ll see what will happen next Saturday.

I LOVE AFTERGLOW! And I wouldn’t mind if Laika wins, that songs is a little weird but it has something, it is stuck in my head and I love singing it *THE STREETS OF MOSCOW WITH MY GIRLFRIEND*

Everybody is loving Icebraker and I don’t get it. The tempo change is so weird and doesn’t fit with the song or anythig.

Based on the order, the final 4 will be Laika, Feel Da Rush, Afterglow, and Icebreaker. Remember Thunderstruck performed first last year and eventually finished 2nd in the Super Final. So Laika can still get a good result. Plus, there’s a lot of mediocre songs after that so it will stand out.

Now excuse me, I’m going to watch the video for Laika. “The streets of Moscow with my girlfriend….”

Lisa Dillan – “Laika” 6,943 Agnete – “Icebreaker” 6,462 Suite 16 – “Anna Lee” 1,277 Ulla – “Traces” 1,264 Elouiz – “History” 1,161 Makeda – “Stand Up” 993 Stage Dolls – “Into The Fire” 724 Pegasus – “Anyway” Please please please not Freddy Kalas. Clearly none have yet become a big thing in Norway, but some of those figures must… Read more »

Afterglow is by far the best, I also enjoy Laika very much, I wouldn’t mind if it won xD

I think Icebreaker is very average and the tempo chage in the chorus is weird, won’t do very well in eurovision…

NRK want to Agnet to win the MGP, like SVT want to Molly Sanden win the MF.

Icebreaker the only song I can listen to without cringing or turning off has won already it seems. Great draw.

They can try to kill Laika, but they won’t succeed <3
